It seems to me that you are the one interpreting the passage literally.
Disclaimer: I'm an atheist, but use the bible as a philosophical and/or moral document (ie. NOT literally).
For example:
Revelation 13:16-17 it says "It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name."
The mark does not have to be physical, especially in the modern world, to be a mark.
It's like the judge is just going through the motions.
This quote in particular bothered me:
“Normally, if there is — I certainly have a big problem with any kind of bullying at school. But normally, you know, I would expect a parent would let the school know about it, because it’s not tolerated. I know that, and that you guys [school administrators] would handle that, you know [...] Because it’s not tolerated, but you need to go through — let the school handle it. And I know from experience with South Fayette School that, you know, it always is. And if there is a problem and it continues, then it is usually brought in front of me.”
Doesn't sound like a judge to me. Sounds like a politician.
AC did not say that the Columbine shooters were bullied.
I read his comment more as "If this is the way a kid gets treated for reporting bullying (and, as the first AC said, gets bullied more) that it could (not would, or did) lead them to snap (as in Columbine).
We will slip gradually into an absolute police state while our smile-faced politicians promise they can make us safe if only we give up a little freedom for security.
My main problem is with "We will slip gradually into an absolute police state."
It may not be "absolute", but I believe we are already there.

The author is writing under a pseudonym, his real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel.
Therefore he must be a terrorist!

Re: Faraday bag
The phone can be placed in a Faraday bag ( US$10-US$34) on site, then transported to a Faraday cage/room within the cop's own evidence room.
The phone could be left in the Faraday bag, within the Faraday cage/room until a warrant is obtained.

IMHO, a "good school" comes from good teachers, not good administrators.
