Age and control of the english language. There, now you can label me a racist and whatever else you want, I couldn't care less, this country will perhaps be saved perhaps not, but to have a country, you need borders and culture. Neither of which has been protected for a long time. Is a large part of our culture taken from immigrants? Sure, melding goes both ways. I think I'll go have some German sausage on a tortilla.
Re: Re: To me it is 1st. a math problem, 2. what's in it for the USA?
"Immigrants, by and large, are not penniless good for nothings who just line up for welfare as soon as they're in."
But that that were so. Have you visited a Social security office lately? Wall to wall immigrants looking for a handout, with a very few pensioners mixed in.
That was when we "needed" people, the economy was stuck on growth, now another warm body is another mouth to feed. Pretty much the same argument I have to the pro-life movement folks.

I don't give 2 shits what you're running from,
Well, that's kinda the point of my article. IF that's really true, I'd urge you to take a step back and ask yourself what kind of person "doesn't give 2 shits" about people in trouble?
I think a realist, there is likely always going to be an abundance of folks who could use a helping hand. You do the world no favors drowning yourself trying to rescue others. "Ships don’t sink because of the water around them. They sink because of the water that gets in them." unknown.
Re: Re: To me it is 1st. a math problem, 2. what's in it for the USA?
Didn't miss it, don't find it relevant. Charity begins at home, we have plenty of homeless and disadvantaged right here, if you need a do-gooder fix. Did you miss the America First thing?
To me it is 1st. a math problem, 2. what's in it for the USA?
If there is one citizen who is unwillingly unemployed, the gates shut until there are openings. I don't give 2 shits what you're running from, only what you bring to the table. Are you a an asset or a liability. If you have no intention of melding, please stay where you are, and try to improve that.
Almost Every Word Of John McCain's mouth is Flat Out Wrong. No real news there. Why he continues to sit on the conservative side of the isle is a mystery. He could make a success of being a progressive, he sucks at being a Conservative.
The biggest variance is; private people don't even participate. I get calls all the time (in spite of being on every no calling list) asking my opinion. I tell them that is none of their business and hang up. I'll vote, and have already made up my mind which way, I just don't see any reason to share. Trump voters, in general, are fed up with the whole process, and are less likely to respond to polls i the first place.
Even there it is 403 forbidden, both the link, and the media file. Just for grins I tried it on a computer in my network, but not on my VPN, and it is all good. So it is VPN blocking.
Nope more 403, doesn't matter I;m not addicted, just seems a little silly on the very spot that shames people with sign up walls and pay walls................
A Texas Verizon DSL now on Frontier. I had one service call, the fellow looked like a street person from Jamaica, driving an ancient pick-up. He was nice enough, but the service is still spotty, the phone has a constant hum, the DSL mostly works though. They aren't filling me with confidence
Excellent, except that it ties the penalty to an individual, and an organization could easily round robin their employees right down to the janitor, and never miss a beat.
I'm old enough to remember the birth of pay TV. The sales pitch was that it would be commercial free. There was still some doubt that it would be widely adopted. Though in fringe areas, it was a boon, as previously those folks could do little with an antenna. Introducing it to the cities, where free TV could be had with rabbit ears, took a bit more persuasion, and to begin with it was a low enough price and a good enough product to entice the public. Fast forward to today; we have the internet, cable TV has degenerated to reruns, commercials, 200+ channels with nothing on, and a few really good shows. Is it any wonder the customers are running for the exit.
The only reason they should object is; the photo / film makes a record of their transgressions. That's the logic I hear from the other side, when they reserve the right to spy on citizens.
“I invented nothing new. I simply assembled the discoveries of other men behind whom were centuries of work. Had I worked fifty or ten or even five years before, I would have failed. So it is with every new thing. Progress happens when all the factors that make for it are ready, and then it is inevitable. To teach that a comparatively few men are responsible for the greatest forward steps of mankind is the worst sort of nonsense.”
Beat me to the punch :( I've really given up on city government, by the time they announce a meeting for concerned citizens to voice their concerns, what ever it is is already set in stone. They just want folks to feel like they are part of the process. To say the take the liberty of bullshitting is putting it mildly.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
