Damn I can't find a direct contact to her to thank her and her bunch for supporting a bill that will likely make me shut the doors on my distribution for my software so down down will go at least one business.
Apparently somebody needed some extra cash and had to buy cheap uncertified units. I see a few problems with this whole thing.
1 Why the heck is the depart not researching who they buy their products from?
2 When the AFD received the smoke alarms Why did they not test some of them? I mean come on is it not good business to test a certain percent of bulk buys?
Hmm is it just me or is it fishy that Smith want's to start the markup again on the same day as the House Oversight Committee hearings.
Of course he does last thing he wants is Issa and Chaffetz in there speaking out with the ammunition the NERDS give them or their proposed amendments being brought to the table.
Plan and simple he wants to avoid as much of the opposition as he can.
Way to many consequences if Google shut down but I do think they should add a banner above search results. Something that will be really noticeable but not interfere with the use of the site.
Since all that hate these bills because of the many reasons that have been stated time and time again that have nothing to do with piracy are pirates.
Why don't you censor yourself off this site here is how then you will not have to talk to any of us pirates again!
It is simple go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc in that location there is a file called hosts right click it click the edit and at the very bottom of that put

I hope that this will help those of you who hate what TechDirt has to say but find it hard not to come back and belittle the writers and other grateful users.

I agree who would waste time on a CAM or Telsync those that would never buy the movie anyways.
Here is my Idea to fight against the DVD pirates again.
Heck how about the movie bigwigs put together there own Netflix type experience wait a month or two after theater release and put out reasonably priced streaming I would be a heck of a lot more willing to pay that than I am to sit in a theater.
Oh and wait chance to have paid stream to see a film in high quality before the ripped DVDs hits the streets hmmm might just slow down piracy a bit. I know it won't stop it but I am willing to bet it would be a step towards fighting it.
Ticket prices are not too high. Ticket prices are only up 30% in a decade, and that includes the surcharge on 3D movies (without it, you are looking at less than 20%). It would be much more valid to say that the price of gas or parking might be drivers - but ticket prices are up much less than inflation.
It goes back to point #2. If you think that an average $8 ticket is too expensive, the theater owners have to come up with way to make the money somehow. Those buildings aren't free to own, you know!
Well the last time I went it was just me and my wife cost $28 (and not a 3D movie either) to get in and $24 for two drinks and a bucket of popcorn. Seats suck can't piss, get a refill without missing anything or disturbing others. Plain and simply not worth the time or money for a shitty experience.
Inflation is up in a lot of thing I agree and yet the people are not doing so well so have to cut parts out and sorry to say movies is always first on my list of things to say bye bye too. Went once last year and probably won't go at all this year. I as many others will sit back and wait till Netflix either get it or Redbox copy and have a way better viewing experience at 1/4 the price.
OR

Oh wait never mind that would involve a new business model that fits the life and times that we live in today and give customers something they would enjoy. Sorry I forgot the internet and technological advances have to recede to fit their old outdated business model.
its amazing how ungrateful kids are these days. I had one child one time act mad because they did not get what they wanted. Well they ended up with nothing at all I made they pack all they got and we drove down to goodwill and gave it away. Needless to say they nor none of the others ever suggested they was displeased again.
But now that people steal their art, and lobby to keep such a situation permanent, artists have to do unartistic things to put food on the table.
20 million is doing way more than putting food on the table. I would be happy to make 100,000 in a year and that puts food on the table and a roof over the head.
I will guarantee that I have put in way more hours working in a year. Now I don't begrudge him for making that its life and I am not good writer have no music talent or any real talent so I don't expect millions but it gets under my skin when people say 20 million is to put food on the table. No it is not its putting extra non-essential comforts at their disposal. Let us not confuse food and roof over head with comforts.
Hell I never used them for the fact I went to there site one day and searched to see if a domain name was available it was while I was deciding i looked up a few other domain names at whois.net and I checked the name I had looked up though Godaddy and well it was registered to them so wow in the 10 min I was looking around and deciding what name to choose all of a sudden Godaddy had it and it was go with Godaddy or choose a new name well new name it was I would not aback a company that holds a domain hostage to get you to go with them. I know for a fact it was just being held hostage as it was a name I did want so I kept an eye out for it and 2 weeks later it was available again. I still have it.
So the stats listed on dailychanges.com concerning new and deleted domains don't mean anything to me.
Well depending on privacy policy's the owners can't look at the documents unless given the DMCA notice so even though it is frustrating not much past turning in individual infringements not much can be done without lawyers and I wish it was not so.
But the fact of the matter is that people will still steal others work and give it away and I would support a bill that would stop the infringements and none of these as of to date will. Or even slow them down with out taking away mine or anybody else s rights to the legal aspects of such sites by censoring us.
Please know that I truly do feel you frustration and know how it can hurt the pocket book. But I am not willing to have any freedoms or liberties taken for money. I have my wife and kids the rest are material things that can be replaced till freedoms and liberties are taken.
I hope that all this gave you a bit of insight around why things are from a hosts perspective and maybe a way to cut back a bit on your losses. Its been a good chat and seemed a bit productive.
Thanks for not calling me a pirate loving freetard because we on opposite sides of the fence. I am like many here that don't like piracy but are positive that the way these bills are written will be worse for all of us because we will still have to deal with the infringes but then we will have to deal with those that WILL abuse SOPA or PIPA as they are just to badly written right now.
wI can't speak on this wallet thing as I never use it but I thought I might make a point about the way people here down AT&T I agree they suck in the customer support area I started my service with Cingular and was happy but as we know they sold out to at&t. But as far as service goes both at&t and Verizon have their down spots I travel all across the US and I have to keep both services though I use the Verizon as a pre-paid option.
At my house I can't get Verizon signal anywhere but At&t is full bars ahead. Just a while back I was on a job site and could not get At&t signal within a 10 mile area I was working but Verizon was full bars ahead.
Now the point is you have to find out what works for where you are at and where you plan on going.
It is an inconvenient fact that no service works everywhere but of the two sorry to say but at&t seems to have less dead areas than Verizon but that's just an observation from one that works in multiple states
As a side note just thought I would say that is seems the straight talk seems to work in both places but has far more dropped calls and does not work in a some areas that both the Big names do work.
