It is true that a lot of people at times have been angry enough to experience the urge to kill. For normal people reason takes over before they get the gun or ball bat. Thankfully very few want to die killing others but this guy made his intentions very clear. He was quick to jump at the chance when the undercover agents recruited him. Maybe this idiot couldn't get laid so he wanted his 72 virgins. Personally I am glad this guy is behind bars. Whether he had a lot of means makes little difference. It just is not that hard to get your hands on a gun or other weapon.
I can look at my CD collection and count a number of them that I would never have bought if I hadn't heard a song that I liked on the radio. It is advertising for them and the demands for payment could be justifiably from the stations and not the other way around. Payola didn't end because of the scandals in the 50's Read the Wikipedia article about it. The record industry has continued to use loopholes in the law to pay stations to promote what they want. It just doesn't seem logical. They are willing to pay to play and at the same time demanding payment for what amounts to advertising for them.
If someone threatens to kill me I can have them arrested. The threat alone is a crime. Just because he did not name a specific target does not make him any less potentially dangerous. He made it very clear that he wanted to kill people and become a martyr. Just try making a statement that you intend to kill the president and see how long it takes before SWAT is kicking down your door. Even if you are a total whack job and not stand the slightest chance of getting past the president's security you will still go to jail.
In this case I think they might have actually done a good thing in creating a way to get this dumb shit off the streets. He seemed hellbent on committing some kind of terrorist act and willing to die in the process. He obviously wasn't very bright posting his intentions online and admitting that he only wanted to join the service to kill people. Real terrorists operate under extreme secrecy and often cells working on the same plot don't even know the identity of the other participants. As ignorant as this guy is, he likely would have eventually done something stupid and killed somebody. The statements that he wasn't a threat probably were a diversion and the FBI intended from the beginning that they would do something to get him locked away. Many criminals that commit violent acts are just as dumb as this guy yet they still find some way to carry it out.
Few artists from my youth will ever be public domain. I may live long enough to see a few that met an untimely young death. If I make it to 75 Buddy Holly will be public domain. I'll have to make it into my 90's for Jimi and Janis. Since many artists from that time of my life are still living it looks like My great grandchildren will be in their 50's when copyright expires and I'll be long dead.
I just checked out this album on Rhapsody. There was no intention at all to hide that it was supposed to sound like the Beatles. It certainly qualifies as parody. I read that George Harrison endorsed it.
It's not. If I remember right the decision was also that it wasn't intentional. I am a musician and have tried my hand at writing but it seems that every time I think I have come up with something original I realize that it just sounds too much like some well known song. Every artist builds on previous influences.
A search for this film shows 120 download links in various quality from just one popular linking site. I think the horse has not only left the barn but is embarking on a world wide tour. But let's make sure we now lock that barn door now.
I just looked at her IMDB page and she is a fairly attractive woman. I do wonder how recent most of those photos are. This lawsuit has damaged any future career she may have had far more than her true age being known. Now when she auditions the casting crew are going to be thinking "hey, isn't this the crazy bitch that sued IMDB for a million dollars?"
I tried an internet dating site and I realized when I met this one woman that the photos she sent me had to have been at least 10 years ago. Could she face CFAA charges now?
It's true that she may no longer land a role as a sexy college coed, but just about everything I watch has actors her age and older. If you are any good you will still get work. Shaving a couple years off your age is not going to make any difference. If she looks right for a part and does well in the screening that is all that matters.
Not exactly a scene from the show Cops where it takes 4 officers to handcuff some coked out idiot who is punching, kicking and spitting all while repeatedly screaming "I'm not resisting arrest!"
Same thing was true for years ago for DVD recorders. On C-band satellite the premuim channels and even some basics began blocking recording for all the newer DVD burners. When I tried to replace my older machine I found out used ones of that model were going for much more than I paid new. I solved the problem by using the old one as a tuner connecting the video output to a newer recorder.
Great news! That means my GREAT grandchildren will only be in their 30's instead of 50's when much the music I listened to as a teenager will be public domain.
Even before I retired most months I used my cell so little that a TracPhone might have still been cheaper. I have known a lot people that are on their phone constantly. My ex does not have have good enough credit to get a contract. The guy she married after me spent her into bankruptcy before he died. (No, she didn't kill him but she should have! LOL) She told me that her prepaid was costing her way more than if she could have gotten a regular phone. The service time is cheap. If you need a lot minutes that's where they get you.
Very true. I don't think anyone but TracPhone has a plan for only 120 minutes per year that they double. Since I use it so little I am actually just buying time and not minutes. At about one tenth the cost of the cheapest AT&T plan of 400 minutes a month it is a bargain. I think I used about 20 minutes all last year and most of that was to call a tow truck when I slid into a ditch during a snowstorm. I pay for the convenience of it being there if I need it. For those who need it more than me you never lose any time you have paid for.
My area may be the exception but I seem to remember when I went to Best Buy to change my plan there was 3 or 4 other choices besides TracPhone. They were the only one that had no contract needed.
I accumulate so many minutes because since I retired I sometimes go months at a time without using my phone. I only have a cell now so I won't be stranded if my car breaks down or I am in an accident. Or maybe to call somewhere I am going to let them know I am running late or need directions. I drive less than a thousand miles a year. The MINIMUM plan AT&T offered was 400 minutes a month and I probably wouldn't use that much in the next 20 years. That was costing almost $60 a month. With TracPhone I can buy as little as 120 minutes a YEAR which they double.
