DRM is NEVER implemented by the developers. Once the game has gone gold the DRM is added at the time of the copying process and is done at the behest of the publisher.
I never met a developer who thought digital rights management was a good idea.
I wouldn't read too much into it. Like most class-action lawsuits it'll *probably* turn out to be one parasitic attorney seeing an opportunity for a quick settlement.
I've been in countless debates both in art college and in real-life™ but Nina aces what I think is the best description of what art "is" in few sentences:
Art gives others a chance to see .... reality reflected back at them, and if they recognize it – if it reflects what they already know – they will love it. When art really succeeds, it merely expresses what we already know, but didn’t know we knew. Art gives language to thoughts we share. Once it’s language, it can spread and grow and be built on. Art is useful to ideas. It embodies them – gives them bodies, legs to walk around on their own.
If there is such strong anecdotal evidence of treatments helping people then why wouldn't entities like the BCA fund a large double-blind study that would put to rest any doubts that might arise?
speak of Duke, a bunch of fans got together and had spent 2 years making Duke 3D maps for Quake 3. 3DR shut them down citing the old attorney stand by, "if we don't protect it, we'll lose it".
Rampant violence in the City of RIO and Sao Paolo, grinding poverty, aids is rife but, hey, gotta make sure the movie makers "meant no offense" when the statue was destryed in CGI. Evidently the obvious use of the statue in the context of the planet being destroyed was too vague for the backwards Brazilian Church know if the producers had done it as a slight against Catholicism.....
The site essentially works like an aggregator anyhow so wouldn't he simply be better off linking directly to the sites (most are from TPB) he's pointing to? Seems that would keep him out of trouble.
Other than the EULA does it mention anywhere that your calls are not private? Seems like an issue that can't simply be buried in just the EULA without incurring some kind of criminal invasion of privacy statute.
I quite frequently will click through on an embedded video to see it at YouTube itself -- often to see more about who posted it, or sometimes the comments on the video
I do this on nearly every embedded YouTube video I view.
I frequent many gaming sites and their comment sections. Ubisoft is quickly replacing EA as the most hated publisher in the industry. I find it difficult to believe that their PR people are willfully ignoring the horrific word of mouth that their company is engendering.
They are going to lose far more money from disgruntled potential customers than they ever will from piracy.
As bad as Cash4Gold is, its one of those instances where that if people are stupid enough to send their valuables in the mail to some company expecting a fair shake then they deserve what they get.
Selling gold is as easy as picking up the phone and calling area pawn shops, jewelry stores that buy gold etc. You ask what they're paying per pennyweight of whatever your selling (14k, 10k, 18k, etc) and you go with the highest payer. An honest buyer will usually take between 5-10% of the total value based on what ever the market is paying that day.

Activision and Ubisoft seem to be in a race to acquire "most despised" publisher in the industry.

what about Portuguese gold Rose? That stuff is essentially pure (correct?) and it seems to stand up as well as any other jewelry.
