"He first filed a complaint with Boston Police Internal Affairs who promptly set about totally ignoring it" Just goes to show that the "internal affairs" is solely devoted to whitewashing the police of any wrongdoing. And cops and city politicians wonder why people don't trust the police. It's simple; the police should not be trusted. I would much much rather encounter a mugger in Boston than a Boston cop; a mugger would take your wallet/phone and be gone, but a cop you annoy can arrest you without real cause, throw you down to the ground, beat you up, and then throw you into jail, where you will be charged and it will take thousands of dollars to clear your name, assuming you can even afford to pay an attorney. Cops say that only people who have done something wrong will run from them, but if you are a member of a racial minority an encounter is likely to get you arrested even if you've done nothing wrong.
by the U.S. government to destroy the business of any company that dares to actually manufacture anything within the U.S.. The government doesn't care if they put more and more U.S. workers out of a job.
Funny. You seriously believe that the money from sale of CDs goes to the artists? If an artist is lucky they might get 1% of the money from sales. And does Brazil even tax CDs?
the newly elected politicians got some very nice contributions from the recording industry people, just like the politicians in the U.S. Wonder what scale of money you need to "contribute" to get the right votes in Brazil compared to the U.S.
is rampant in the government. It is not a republican or democrat thing; it is just the nature of our government. Whistleblowers are lucky they do not get charged with treason and sent without trial to a "work camp" in some godforsaken place. All governments hate whistleblowers, and the more corrupt the government is the more they hate whistleblowers.
What congress most fears is someone managing to create a chart showing how much each congressman received (both up front and under the table) from corporations and showing how the congressman voted on issues concerning corporations. Of course all it would show is that every member of congress is corrupt to some degree.
AT&T has paid way enough money in "campaign contributions" to politicians and "gifts" to the right people in regulatory agencies. T-Mobile, on the other hand, doesn't have the money to fund (bribe) a defense.
Consumer voices will be ignored as well.
Wonder how many 10s of thousands will be unemployed once AT&T starts chopping redundant workers and departments.
that cops no longer see their jobs as helping people; their job is to arrest criminals. In a cops mind, there are only 3 classes of people: cops, criminals, and people who are not yet criminals. I think cops expect people to obey them no matter whether the cop orders something lawful or not. Cops seem to spend so much time battling criminals that they think everyone should be treated like a criminal.
It never ceases to amaze me that cops pull stunts like this then wonder and complain that no one trusts them. If you are smart don't trust a cop, especially if you are a racial minority.
I would much rather encounter a mugger on the street than a cop. At least all a mugger wants is your money and phone, but encountering a cop can wreck your life, You can get arrested for "disorderly conduct", which is totally defined by the cops and backed up by courts. Then you can spend some nice time in jail, get beaten, and spend tens of thousands of dollars trying to clear your name. I'll take my chances with a mugger anytime.
is too mired in bureaucracy to really care about people dying when it conflicts with the pharma companies that provide generous "gifts" to the FDA members. The patent office has zero interest in human health.
Your attitude clearly shows you hate ordinary citizens. Since you state you are an academy instructor, it also shows why most cops hate citizens and why people fear the police. Cops used to be there to protect citizens, but now their job is to catch criminals, and if they can't find enough criminals to meet their arrest quotas, just come up with a reason to arrest innocent people.
I would much rather encounter a mugger than a cop.
People who are only "Detained" are often handcuffed and searched. If you object you get arrested and charged with resisting arrest and/or disturbing the peace. Cops are just looking for an excuse to harass ordinary citizens. However, then they turn around and wonder why people don't trust them and, in fact, fear them.
The mass state supreme court has rules that the law is constitutional and the prosecution and sentence were valid. Other people have been prosecuted under this law. they call it wiretapping since you are recording AUDIO without a person's permission.
Massachusetts cops routinely harass people for videotaping them. You can easily be arrested in Mass for this. Personally, I'd much rather deal with a mugger than a cop in Mass. A mugger will only take your phone and wallet, which is a small loss and not a huge thing. A corrupt cop can arrest you, beat you, have you thrown in jail, and you get a permanent arrest record that will cost you tens of thousands of dollars to fight. I don't trust most of the cops in Mass. They believe themselves above the law and feel they have every right to beat people who annoy them. And they still do not understand why people do not trust them and are afraid of them. The cops view anyone who is not a cop as a criminal either now or in the future.

How can the police possibly justify demanding ID from a person taking photographs? It just goes to show that the cops these days are NOT there to protect citizens;they are there to find criminals and arrest them. very few cops these days subscribe to any idea that they are there to protect citizens.
what they want is to take over T-Mobile then slowly kill it and absorb T-Mobile customers into the death star. To quote "Resistance is futile.." They also don't talk about the tens of thousands of T-Mobile workers who will be uneployed once AT&T takes over.
to test? Isn't it pretty common knowledge that the FBI pretty much ignores laws that get in the way? "Surveillance Guidelines"??? Why do they even bother to test since they ignore it. The FBI and the other government spooks (which I collectively refer to as the Gestapo) consider themselves fully above any laws and any oversight by any judicial process.
