So tell me, what happens when CISPA passes and the Government servers get hacked with all this data on it's citizens that it aquired via "spying" gets leaked? It's not like we can change our identities as easily as changing our password.
They're not appeasing the Chinese people, they're appeasing the Chinese Government. Anything that depicts a bad image for China gets "censored" by the Government and is a "lost" sale. Keep the China Government happy, the movie is allowed to be sold to the billions of people in China. Hollywood makes bank...
Don't know what rock you've been living under. TV's have ALWAYS been measured diagonally. It's easier to represent a screen size as one number. With the new 16:9 ratio widescreen displays, the diagonal number is now bigger, because the screen is wider.
TV's originally had a round screen, so the size was the diameter. As you know, the diameter of a circle can be measured at ANY angle. As TV's lost the "round" shape and became square, the diameter measurement turned into a corner to corner diagonal measurement - which is today's standard of measuring displays.
Well, there goes my idea of patenting a method of advancing though lines of code in a computer program to provide information based on various input procedures.
I have an idea...Let's stop promoting/reviewing/linking movies. They don't want the free advertising, fine!!
With the loss of all the "word of mouth" and blog reviews, we'll see a big drop in attendance as no one will even know there are new movies out to go see.
Think of the lawyers!!! Without patent law, they'd all be unemployed!!!
We need to keep everything locked up. If 1 thing got out into public domain, that would be one less thing we can sue for...We'd have to downsize the IP Lawyer division and they'd be forced to get real jobs!!!
I have an idea...You don't want a bad review written about you? Don't be a bad Real Estate rep!!!
This goes for everyone else in the "service" industry. Treat your customers with respect and they'll more than likely write a good review. Treat them like crap, and that's what you'll get in the review.
We really need to come up with a punishment for false infringment charges. That'll stop a lot of these patent trolls in thier tracks
"I swear, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that I am the copyright owner."
This right here should be enough to stop all the false takedown notices. I guess the information is accurately incorrect. So that's how they get around the purjury bit.
Or wearing your socks on the other foot. Maybe they should start sewing in "L" and "R" so we know what foot belongs in which sock. If you don't wear compatible shoes with said socks, there should be all sorts of alarms that go off.
I'd better stop now before someone reads this and gets some wacky ideas.
It's stuff like this that ruins vacations. I have a cousin that's on vacation in Amsterdam and she posted in her blog, "So there wont be many pics posted from Amsterdam...the things worth taking a picture of aren't allowed and the things you are allowed to take a picture of arent worth it."
If it's outside and you don't have to pay admission to see it, you should be able to take pictures, paint, draw, take impressions, or whatever. Copyright has it's uses, but over the years, there have been too many restrictive changes made that it's actually hurting what it's supposed to protect these days.
There are so many inequities and possibilities for discrimination that no one in their right mind would allow this in the business world. So why allow it in the government world?
Because the Government is no longer run "By the people, for the people." It's run "By the lobbyists, for the Corporations."
