Yep, that's exactly what I do...Pop the DVD in, make a sandwich, grab a soda. By the time I come back It's usually at the menu screen. I even consider the previews they put at the beginning a waste. Chances are, I've already seen the preview on the internet, or on the rare occasions where I actually stop fast forwarding through commercials to watch a trailer for a movie that seems interesting.
It's just that now, as the vulnerabilities are finally getting press attention, that the TSA starts to pretend to take these things seriously, rather than admitting the truth: they're there for show more than anything else.
What part of "theatre" do you not understand in "Security Theatre". Last I checked, we go to the "theatre" for entertainment...
For example, I wanted to watch X-Men First Class this weekend. Did you know I couldn't legally purchase or rent it from ANY online service? You know who had it? Torrents.
There is a fundamental failure in the MPAA to understand that you can't live in the past, things change, and you Adapt or Die. People aren't gonna turn off their internet connection just cause Warner or Paramount might not make quite as many millions this year.
This...Until Hollywood gets rid of their distribution windows and realizes if we can't get what we want NOW, we'll find ways of getting it NOW.
DRM and other encryption methods are just like speed bumps for us...the only difference is instead of all of us slowing down to go over these speed bumps, one person is going over them and pounding them into rubble so the rest of us don't need to slow down.
Because there are some of us that don't change cell phone providers at the slightest change in the wind...We are grandfathered in with true "Unlimited Data". For my ISP, there currently is no cap.
The Internet is a "communications" medium. The big companies want to change it to a "broadcast" medium so they can continue thier propaganda and control of the "media"
Once Government can "take down" anything they want we lose our 1st amendment right of free speech...Next is going to be the Gestapo marching down our streets!!
Troll tip:
Pay attention to who actually wrote the article before you start bashing!!!
wow...gotta love the AC's. Mike didn't even WRITE this. Do they even bother to actually read the article before posting? Nevermind, we all know the answer to that.
Unless I'm missing something in an alternate universe where Zachary and Mike are the same person...
and THIS is the #1 reason I do not own ANY gaming consoles. I'm a 100% PC gamer. If I want to mod my computer, all it takes is a quick trip to the local electronics store.
I've technically had the same "computer" for the last 8 years...Although the only thing that remains is the case. EVERYTHING else has been upgraded. Come to think of it, I'm due for another "upgrade" pretty soon.
The Automobile analogy is spot on...If you BUY your car, it's legal to modify it with aftermarket parts. If you LEASE your car, I don't think you can do that...There may be penalties when the lease is over. I've never leased a car, so not 100% sure on that one.
It's a scientific fact that the level of "shit" someone is full of is inversely proportional to the amount of "cash" the observer is guaranteed to receive.
Comparing a keyword filter to ContentID is like comparing a human strapping on wings to a modern fighter plane. One of them works and can actually get the job done. One of them just makes you look like an idiot.

If you take into account that the Java/Android case is going mostly in their favour."
That's like counting a goal before it's scored...
It's 1-0 right now...A very good chance it'll end up 2-0 in the near future though.
