They will claim the Cows Herd threatened something & if you demand proof you are just part of the lame stream media attacking them.
Their base isn't big on facts or evidence.
Just remember Kolby. They are allowed to do this BECAUSE of 230. Don't try to tap dance around that because it will make you look even more stupid then you already are.
I haven't really 'gotten' the Olympics since the early 90's.
100 years ago it made perfect sense. The world was huge then, not many people travelled inter-continentally, that was mostly the domain of the rich - as long as they had 4 months to spare for the travel. So having this world-wide event every 4 years allowed athletes to compete with people from countries they'd never heard of let alone would have ever been able to visit.
But today? Nearly every sport has their own yearly 'world championships'. The every 4-year World Cups that various sports have (e.g. football aka soccer, Rugby, etc.) are far, far more important than the Olympics. Individual events in some sports shit all over the Olympics - Tour de France, any of the 4 tennis grand slams, etc. You can be in any major city in the world within 48 hours, many within 20. The Olympics revels in it's own memories of past glory and importance. These days, it's nothing more than a corrupt scam earning the IOC billions of unearned income.
There is just no point to the Olympics anymore. There hasn't been for at least 30 years now.
It depends, I think. If they swapped the car, and the system did not report that correctly, then yes that is not valid excuse, and their statement is false.
If someone overstayed their rental, then the car is technically stolen ("possessed by someone who is not the owner, without legal cause or the owner's consent"). So, the initial police report (and their statement) is valid; that said, they should retract said police report if they regain the car (and implement a grace period for police reports).
Though I wonder, how difficult is it to retract a police report, compared to making one?
during the BLM protests, I talked a lot with a right winger who I had thought was more left. Our conversations left BLM and moved into general policing issues. She was all in believing in the claims of rampant sex trafficking (specifically sex trafficking) across our borders.
Seeing an opportunity, I pointed out that organizations fighting sex trafficking face a serious issue - legally the victims of sex trafficking are themselves criminals for the rapes the faced. This prevents victims from reporting their crimes out of the very real fear of facing criminal prosecution. Some cases have even seen traffickers never even get arrested, while their victims are convicted for the crime of being raped.
This issue is so bad the state of CA passed a law preventing the police from arresting sex workers (including those being raped under the guise of sex work) who report more serious crimes they are a victim of that require the victim to disclose their sex worker status in 2019. I pointed out that if we actually prosecuted sex traffickers, instead of their victims, we might see less sex trafficking.
Not entirely Surprisingly, my ex-friend wasn't concerned that we let traffickers go free to focus on arresting rape victims who confessed they were raped for profit. Because rape victims aren't people under the law and order lens. They are violent criminals, because otherwise they would have let themselves be killed like the real people they have to step on.
We've all said it before. To the police, the question isn't if you are guilty, it is what are you guilty of. And to hell with building a rapport with the community, lets just outlaw doors and crime will magically be solved.
I watched through YouTube TV and it worked well. One click to record an entire sport and a fast forward button that worked. Much less annoying that Peacock with spoilers above the replays or shudder... watching live. Granted I am in MST so things running ar midnight EST were fine.
It does make one wonder where all that money is ending up, doesn't it?
I mean, host countries spend their own money building villages, arenas, infrastructure, taking care of security, etc., none of that comes out of the billions paid to the Committee by advertisers and televisors. Participating countries spend their own money to train, clothe, feed, and transport their athletes to the event locations, so the Committee isn't spending money in this fashion either.
Advertising? Possibly, but certainly not billions' worth. And insofar as I can determine, they couldn't possibly spend enough on advertising to sway those who don't give a damn about the Olympics in the first place, and it's wasted on those who are already fanatical about the whole schmear.
I'd like some transparency here, please - just who pocketed nearly all that incoming money? 'Cause sure as shit those lame-ass medallions aren't made of real gold, etc.
An exercise bike doesn't go anywhere. My hiking boots do. I've got good rain gear and good cold weather gear and good traction gear - all of which cost me a fraction of the cost of a Peloton. I've got no shortage of mountains to explore.
I look forward to a stunning lack of self-awareness and/or honesty as excuses are made that the people being banned are facing that penalty because they broke the rules and they aren't being told because it's clearly obvious why they were shown the door.
Should be worth a good chuckle or two at the least.
One thing that people who don't understand the broadcasting business get wrong is that a network wants to miss its rating targets by a small margin in a major event. You can always compensate advertisers for slightly low ratings by giving them time in other sporting events. If you go wildly over on ratings, you can't charge more than your negotiated rate. You make the best profit by overpromising slightly.
Id blame the severe drop off in cable subscriptions, and the poor showing of past streaming, with blackouts to funnel finals into US primetime undermining the whole live sports aspects. particularly with peacock's underdeveloped offering further undermining streaming viability last year. Add on top the olympics weren't advertised outside of NBC offerings, reducing visibility for cord cutters.
Even if we'd had celebrity athletes, there are distinct failings in the offering in previous years and now that drive viewership away.
In general, web scraping should be allowed, except when the data would be used to violate privacy, ...
Check (privacy violations are the whole point)
... when the data collection would be clearly excessive (posing security and privacy risks), ...
Double Check (100 million images, for the express purpose of violating privacy)
... or when a government (or a company which helps the government bypass restrictions against warrantless searches) is the party doing the scraping.
Triple-Check (Clearview was marketing to Law Enforcement...)
Clearview hits all three marks, so I don't see an issue with the statement. Clearview's web scraping has been declared illegal - not the same thing as "web scraping" being declare illegal, at least in terms of the verbiage used here.
I actually subscribe to NBC's streaming service and I made a deliberate decision not to watch any Winter Olympics coverage, to help tank viewer numbers.
Before that I was disappointed with NBC's Summer Olympics coverage, because despite the supposed flexibility and variety of streaming, the sports I was interested in had only a handful of episodes buried under a pile of fluff over gymnastics, track and basketball. I think I got more sprint kayak coverage in 1992 with my VCR

Ah yes the most heinous of speech, far worse than obscenity or it's ilk, making fun of the platform owner with a parody account, it's removal is truly a demonstration of how dedicated Trump Social is to protecting free speech unlike the platforms they so decry and condemn.
Of course when I pointed out the blatant corruption, allowing the games to be hosted by places like Russia and China, etc etc I was a negative nancy that hates sports and athletes.
Of course it's fine to sacrifice 15 years olds to the Olympics gods as long as it's good entertainment right?

Cows are notoriously hard to moderate. Comments are often cheesy. Holsteins are especially spotty.
