Because the basic problem here isn't if they are being good at following you or not (though that plays into the fact that they'd actually have to WORK at it to keep up and or observe), but weather they should be allowed to set the GPS tracker without proper warrant.
Being able to track you for no apparent reason isn't right no matter what the government thinks. The 4th amendment states that pretty clearly.
Everything I just said.....plus, It's just one more example of the Govt. trying to do what it does best, looking for results without actually doing any work.
"The real question is how do we reduce that gap and make everyone pay a fare share....."
The answer to that question is to simply set a fixed income tax of say 14% for EVERYONE, no exceptions. If you make $1M a year you pay $140K. If you make $100 a year you pay 14 bucks. Everyone is equal on the income tax front. No loopholes for the wealthy, no deductions......nothing getting in the way. Hell the IRS could go on a long vacation.
My 2 cents.....and Bloomberg's as well if I'm correct.
Being an economic behemoth and bringing value to the world are mutually exclusive.
If they're THAT big, why don't they actually give they're tech away so that they might be helping the world. That's right some of their crops are contaminating ACTUAL edible crops. NVM.
Tell me again how that is is developing a new thing? In fact if they didn't develop the drug in the first place then how could they possible be allowed a patent for their "Intellectual Property when in fact someone else created it?
Disclaimer: I'm not sure who actually came up with the drug but the wording in your comment suggests that another company originally created the drug.
Leaving out the full sentence or not is irrelevant. The point I was making is NOT whether or not it would make you look guilty. It would most certainly make you look guilty initially.
The point I was making is that the way this is worded and formatted it looks like BC is actually saying using a wireless router is a common example of infringement.
Use your reading comp skills, look at the reply I posted to myself, get the WHOLE picture of what I was saying, then quietly go away.
-Using a wireless router in your room; others may use.......
This does NOT appear to say that if your wireless connection is unsecured you could look guilty. The way it is formatted looks exactly like it's saying that using a wireless router in your room is a common example of CI.
If they wanted to have the appearance of saying that it's not a good idea to have an unsecured router for these reasons they shouldn't have put it into the bullet points and worded it the way it is.
-They can ape the album cover, they can manipulate the bits in the editing programs, but they cannot truly generate the content.
It's all appearance, not actual content.-
Wait, isn't this exactly what the music industry and the software industry does exactly?
To put it another way,
Once the song is recorded and digitized or the software code is written and saved....aren't they then just making copies and selling them?
If I made a copy of one of their copies haven't I just duplicated EXACTLY what they've done, made a copy?
So yeah, it's professional content. Exact duplicate of the original.
I wasn't actually posting on the story, I was just trying to enlighten you on your flawed thinking on that one comment.
In a sense you are right and partially wrong here. To a point I agree with what you're saying though I may be wrong with what comes beyond that point.
Though I can't be sure what Mike meant with the words he typed, what I got from the article is companies have this "sense" that they should be allowed ownership of words or control of them. What they really want is people to believe that they own a certain word or phrase.
That whole NYT thing you speak about.....you might have something there.
