Realistically the EU will hopefully realise that there may be 'x' countries in the EU but there is only one world in which to share it. Under that premise, one law for the lot makes perfect sense .. so .. that'll never get up :(
Perhaps if those things didn't occur .. then Wikileaks would not be able to provide information on it. I am afraid in that context "the state" is committing the "crimes against the state".
insofar as MMOs go, I would argue that Guild Wars has it right. Pay for the game, play for free (for ever). Addons, extra storage etc cost. You can play quite well without them, but for some players, they feel they need the extras. I won't play WoW -because- of the monthly fee, and it's not because I can't afford it.
Not quite - the way science works is someone goes "hey when I do X, Y happens" and that becomes a theory. Quite soon after lots of other scientists try to do X and have Y happen also. If a few of them have Z happen instead the theory is re-done to include why Y or Z may happen, it is retested, and so on. Once all the results everyone gets are included in the theory then they're accepted as a rule or fact.
If it was running on an Amiga it'd pre emptively multitask.. in the equivalent of DOS, on a 7.14Mhz CPU and 512Kb of ram, booted off an 880Kb floppy :)
I am laughing, I actually had the same idea while really drunk one night, and a 1000km trip coming up in a week, the idea of being "allowed" to do upto 110 or 120% of the posted speed limit for a fee seemed reasonable (it'd actually take several hours off a long trip).. when sober it dawned on me that'd never happen then I read this :)
I've seen a few 'tweet about x to get y' promotions and to be quite blunt it puts me off whatever product is being promoted. Generally you can get it at a different (personally, lower) cost elsewhere anyway.
I don't have a large number of followers and I'm not going to lose half of them because I'm seen as a spammer. If I like something, I'll tell people about it.
The whole idea sits badly with me too, Mike.
Do you rant much, Virginia ? Seems you have something to get off your chest. As a non US citizen I've never heard of, nor care about topix, however seeing your enthusiasm, perhaps you're taking it all a little too seriously ?
Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't think having a go at the owners of a site on your first visit, in the last line of your first spate of comments is going to convince many people your hinges are secure. If you have the time to spend a year investigating organised crime on a website, you could maybe get out more ?
WTF ? You're kidding me right ?
So basically they're arguing it's copyright infringement if some *thing* else gives me the wrong paper towel .. ? If there was a big sign on each enmotion dispenser that said something like "Every time a wrong brand piece of paper leaves this dispenser, copyright lawyers kill a kitten" I might consider it a worry if the wrong paper came out.. but if lives were not depending on it, I, would not give a rat's - like I figure most other people.
I hadn't heard anything on this yet, appreciate the heads up.
Uber pedant mode, your quote should have the full stop on the outside.. 'that iiNet "approved infringement." The '/ Swap the . and " and should be lovely. Sorry someone else will if I don't.
I love these ads. I enjoyed all the others I saw in response to comments. Yes, I would buy some but I've been told no by She Who Must Be Obeyed. That said, she likes the man that I could smell like. She likes the ads too.
I'm glad I have the original version of this game. It just would not be the same. Isn't copyright awesome. As PaulT said, how many other equally culturally important things might fall prey ? :)
Isn't the zombie a parody anyway ? I know I laughed the first time I saw one.
Simply, accessing either is via the http protocol. Since it can be used for illegal file sharing (you can download an infringing file from a web page) using that protocol, you evidently support banning it too. Extrapolating it further why are you using a protocol you think should be illegal ?
Next you'll want to get rid of dihydrogen monoxide because it's a cause of many drownings.
