Techdirt definition of a troll: anyone who makes ridiculous ad-hominim attacks against people who are making their cases with supporting links and references, while replying with "because I say so" mentality without anything to back it up.
oh, there goes Anonymous again. Making ad hominim attacks and offering not a single shred of proof that he even knows what the hell he's talking about.
Yes, it is... as we have backed up repeatedly in other conversations. Now, if you want to offer proof that it's not, feel free. Otherwise please feel free to shut up.
Because that's his M.O. Don't hold your breath for any actual proof... the only thing this guy ever brings in is the misapplication of Arcara v Cloud Books. And he hasn't even done that in a while.
He has a repeated history of statements that would lead you to believe that his word should be truth and law. And if you disagree, well then, you're just dumb or only deserve a response of "LOL".
Interesting... 'repeated'... hmm, that's the first time I've heard anyone say that.
Now, if you're done making childish attacks at other people, the adults would like to get back to talking. Run along now... I think I saw a Pokémon go that away... if you hurry you can catch it!!!
Your entire argument hinges around the ability to prove corruption... which is not the point of the article. The whole thing was to show how these actions lead to a reduced faith in our government... that's all.
If you, AJ, and anyone else keep saying it's FUD because there's accusations of corruption going on, then it's your doing. No one else here is saying "hey look! proof of corruption!"
How am I clouding the debate? You said Wikileaks wasn't real whistle blowing... I pointed out one of the examples where it was (albeit in a sarcastic manner)... And now you attack me in response? Nice.
And, by the way, I hate Limbaugh. But thanks for telling me how my mind works... appreciate it.
"Fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) is a tactic of rhetoric and fallacy used in sales, marketing, public relations,[1][2] politics and propaganda. FUD is generally a strategic attempt to influence public perception by disseminating negative and dubious/false information designed to undermine the credibility of their beliefs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear,_uncertainty_and_doubt
So what part of the information given by Mike was dubious/false? Is giving factual information also FUD? If so, how is the weather forecast not FUD they say it's going to rain... that's undermining the credibility of my belief that the weather's nice today.
I'm not sure why FUD seems to be such an issue with you, but not everything is FUD... it's not out to get you, you know.
Sorry... I assumed people do like I do and read the story before drawing conclusions.
And since the story talks about how this whole thing --looks-- like corruption as a description of the perception created by the data, I don't really see how the headline is all that misleading.
"Real Whistleblowing is about changing things. It isn't about forwarding a political agenda. The connections between wikileaks, government(s), and political parties suggest that the action of wikileaks isn't to make the world a better place, but rather to make the world the place they want it to be."
Such as the documentation about a US company pimping out young boys to local officials? Yup... Dyncorp must have pissed them off something fierce to have such trivial info aired.
"Rather than just swallowing the TD pap whole, why not investigate a little yourself and learn something?"
Rather than just attacking TD and its readers, why not actually address the challenges to your statements?

"You leave it sitting there like they are corrupt, and then try to disclaim your way out." -AC
"Now, this is not to say that those 84 are corrupt." - Mike
no, he disclaimed himself first, then proceeded to agree with someone else who stated "whether or not there is actual corruption here obscures the point that it certainly looks corrupt, and certainly decreases citizens' willingness to trust that their government is acting in the interests of the people they're supposed to represent. "
Sorry if you read more implication into it. I sure didn't.

"Darrell Issa". "Darrell". Darryl? Wow... That's a creepy coincidence. Both have a shaky grasp on reality.

What was caused is the increased perception of corruption. That was caused by the data showing who got money and who voted which way.
Mike was right... you missed the second half. Or ignored it. But hey, you get to drop your favorite meme, so all's good.
