One wonders, with all this protest, if any of these bad ideas (ACTA, TPP, etc) were to become laws. How many people would actually follow it?
And it's quite simple to solve really. If their claims of the profitability of the illegal sites are true, and those sites really are so profitable, then what's stopping the Great Morons at Hollywood at creating the same kinds of websites, but then legal?
But watching those commercials in a different area of the world is apparently illegal. Wanna bet they are going to issue takedown notices if any ad appears on teh you tube?
I'll await the ICE's take-down of ESPN America (The European branch of ESPN), because it airs the Superbowl, live, but without the (in)famous Superbowl ads.
I wish the Dutch politicians were this outspoken on these fundamentally human rights issues. Most of them are still as clueless about the internet as those pro-SOPA senators, who were proudly proclaiming their ignorance. They still think that just filtering the bad content works, often under the faux-blanket of "combating child pornography" (hiding that stuff does nothing to stop it).
And our deputy prime minister has refused to open the ACTA agreement to debate, not because he's against it, but because it must remain a secret. But that is why the Dutch government hasn't signed onto it yet, which is a mixed blessing in disguise.
BTW, TPP is now also starting to get some traction in Dutch IT-media as well. Which is a good thing. The more opposition, the better.
Sorry, but I patented thinking. And you thinking up this idea of a copyrightable dance infringes on my patent.
I expect a sum of $150 per thought from you.
I'd vote for Marietje Schaake, even though she's in the EU for a different party, one that I'd normally don't support. But Ms. Schaake has often come up for the civil rights of internet users, and has been on the forefront of the opposition to the multiple hijack attempts by the software patent lobbies.
Also, she's actively looking for different business models for, for instance, the 'struggling' media industry. Hosted and presided many events regarding this subject.
She has done more for the betterment of our society, than your precious Chris Dodd.
You started off with saying that he was a "French pol."
By shortening the word politician you implied emphasize the word "French".
And also raising awareness to him being a member of a socialist party (knowing how a lot of Americans take a dim view on socialism), makes you seem to call out all French socialists as being dishonest.
Disclaimer: I'm Dutch, living in The Netherlands, and I believe in socialism. (compared to the Democrats in the US, I'd be considered extreme-leftist, whereas here, I'm more towards the center, but still left of the center.)
As for your last point, I'm doing that as we speak.. actually haven't bought nor downloaded music in probably a full year now. But they'd still claim that their losses (which are barely there, during a full-blown recession no less) are all due to the rampant piracy.

Fuck any type of copyright laws. DO NOT WANT!
No more governmentally imposed monopolies!

Dear UK court
I find you guilty based on this, and order you to pay me 1 million pound.
