Your comment is not even an accurate phrase. What exactly is a "file sharing infringer?". I vote pirate party. Does it mean there's proof? Am I suddenly a "file sharing infringer?" When do I get my settlement letter?
"piracy", as it is called today, is actually free speech. All those people fighting against piracy are fighting *for* censorship.
It's your exact comment that represents the kind of people who would never do this.
If it wasn't for people like that, who basically represent capitalism, we wouldn't have issues with IP in the first place. People need to get beyond "I'm being screwed" and look at "how can I actually benefit from this?". Those who don't have just as long a list as those that do.
Nintendo has been the biggest advocate of DRM, consoles and console lockin, and guess who's been #2? Hint: steam.
Steam is still DRM, it's just a little more reasonable.
Meanwhile, nintendo's been cruising on the "we're like apple and our customers are suckers" model for a long time and it's been quite well known, just like this comic: http://www.cad-comic.com/cad/20080721
All 5 are republicans who are fundamentalists, heavy right wing, super conservative, whore themselves out to corporate capture, and have huge ethical breaches on many levels conflicting with their conservative views.

It's just that 1 (bad patents) being issued en masse results in 2 (time delay).
So fixing the bad patent scenario will fix the time situation. However, fixing the time situation will not help the fact that bad patents get issued. It doesn't go both ways.
But yes, startups cannot go slow, they go fast, but I don't think Mike failed to address that.
uh, that glasses design is from the 70's and probably even earlier yet, and I think currently, "designer" revisions have been done by non-american fashion artists.
isn't this the exact definitions of both slander and libel for the government to have done this? Basically we've committed defamation on every country we went after trying to villify assange. Good job US. *facepalm*.

That's the most basic of economics. If you're focused on the knockoff, then you're still missing the bigger picture.

This should be a hilarious chicken and egg scenario, as every patent comes out, every patent will be bypassed probably within a week.
Maybe this will be the perfect example of how patents don't fit in society today as even patents can't keep up with software.

On the post: No, Giving More Patents To Startups Won't Increase Innovation
patents take years
startups can rely on things that can happen in 3, 6 months.
so how is that supposed to help startups that don't even wait that long? that's not even a startup at that point.
However, who else is a startup? startup shell corporations used to sue via proxy. So this sounds like a very dangerous statement to me.
