None of this will matter. Judge Wright ordered an IRS investigation. I doubt that he would have stated outright that they had not paid taxes on millions of dollars they had extorted if he was not pretty sure that it was true. None of their other shady actions could possibly get them longer jail sentences. No one will get paid because the government will seize everything they have.
This is just what I was talking about. Thousands of good cops willing to risk their lives for you or your family and you claim they are all corrupt because of the small minority that are bad. If you awake tonight to hear someone breaking into your house don't call 911 because all cops are evil!
This whole story is so outrageous that it reads like an Onion spoof report except I know techdirt is too savvy to fall for such a thing. To have an employee mistakenly arrested once for trespassing, perhaps understandable and he should have received a sincere apology. To have this happen dozens of times even after being reported to internal affairs just shows that this whole department is corrupt from the top down. I am usually the first to defend our police who for the most part are brave men who put their lives on the line to protect us. There was a case in my city recently where a fleeing burglar fired on an officer and instead of firing back he continued the chase and ordered him to put the weapon down. When he turned around with the gun still raised the cop shot and killed him. All of this was CAUGHT ON SURVEILLANCE TAPE. Many complained "couldn't he have jut shot him in the leg?" It's good cops like this catching flack because of rotten bullies like those in this story.
This has been my experience with them too. They will often bend the rules for you just about any time you can give them a decent reason. I appreciate that you speak to representatives that English is their first language. (I cringe any time I call a support number and it is answered by someone with a barely understandable Indian accent.) I also agree with you about the emails. You will average 2 or 3 a day but sometimes they have some really great sales and are worth checking out. Bookmark their Shell Shocker page and click it regularly. http://www.newegg.com/special/shellshocker.aspx
If they used it outright with his parodied lyrics verbatim he would have a right to sue. But if somehow you could parody of HIS parody and change it enough to make it a derivative work it would still be fair use.
Parody isn't fair use? Can't earn any money from it? "Weird Al" Yankovic is in serious trouble! You would think a group so long forgotten would not want their memory now resurrected that they are assholes.
I highly reccomend them. You will rarely find a lower price for anything they sell. They run specials all the time that no one can touch. You can also be sure that they won't pawn off some refurbished product as new. I received a gift card for Amazon from my sister and I bought a hard drive that was supposed to be new. Turns our it had 6,000 hours on it and several bad sectors. I had to threaten to report him to get it replaced. He still wanted me to pay shipping! NewEgg's 30 day return policy is great. No questions asked and free shipping for refund or replacement. They will sometimes cross-ship product. If you bought it on sale they will apply the same discount if you want to reorder and refund you when they get your return. They will do anything they can to please you. I had a manufacturer take too long to send me a mail in rebate and they issued me a credit code for twice the amount.
NewEgg has the right idea. Sure, a couple of fights against the trolls individually cost more than settlements, but in the schoolyard all you have to do is kick a couple of the bullies asses for the rest of them to leave you alone. I am proud to be a loyal NewEgg customer and have spent many thousands of dollars with them. About the only time I buy from anyone else is for something that they do not carry.
WOW! I'm guessing that this must be a huge embarrassment to the NSA or they would not be fighting it so hard. It would be hilarious if this is among the Snowden documents and the Guardian publishes it soon. It is obvious they don't have a clue what all he took.
Were these data link hacks rubber stamped by the FISA court or did the NSA just feel that since they approved nearly every thing else they did they could just do whatever they wanted? If some hacker did this the computer crimes laws would put him away for life but it's OK for the government, right?
I wish they would do that to me. I would trade one day of humiliation and discomfort for all the slam dunk multimillion dollar lawsuits. Like winning the anal lottery! Hell, I had to get the camera up my butt a couple of months ago and it wasn't that bad. They gave me some pretty good drugs.
If I were to have that lobotomy maybe I would be happy and ignorant that millions of Muslims hate us and would be happy to murder innocent Americans and our allies. They believe that in the afterlife they will get to pop 80 cherries if they blow themselves up killing us in the name of Allah. These "martyrs" are considered heroes and their families receive support. There are probably hundreds of sleeper cells in this country. They make contact in the mosques and sometimes even their leadership is involved. They are the ones that need a closer look at the airports. We frisk grandmas and little kids so we can be politically correct.
By that reasoning we should shut down all police agencies because more people die by these unpreventable tragedies than are injured and killed by violent crime. It is no secret that one of the ultimate goals of these Muslim terrorists is to detonate a nuclear device in a densely populated area. As misguided as many of the government agencies efforts are, lets hope they are going to be able to prevent that.
There were explosives back them but I don't think they ever imagined that someone would carry them into a crowd of innocent people and blow themselves up.
The key words here is a few. Certainly not all Muslims are extremists but in much of the world a good portion of them are. The sleeper cells are in the mosques. When our founding fathers formed our religious freedoms they had no idea that some day people would hide behind it so they could plot to commit mass murder.
If these "law abiding citizens" were not in this country they would be burning flags and shouting death to America. It was Muslims that brought down the towers and have committed countless other acts of terror. The members of this so called "religion of peace" held massive celebrations when they heard the news on 9/11. They should be infiltrated and kept under investigation.
The feds are so powerless do do much of anything they try to entrap some dumb shit so they can show they are somehow winning the war on terrorism. Billions are being spent to fight this war so they have to produce something even if they mostly invent it.
Didn't just mean blowing things up. By not hurting anyone I meant not causing any harm. If your children die because your religion won't allow them medical care you belong in jail. People have done heinous things in the name of religion. Sexually abusing children, advocating mass suicide, defrauding gullible people out of their savings, etc. A lot of people believe some pretty weird things and are harmless.
