If those injuries are sore backs and necks from rear end collisions vs t-bone accidents that send people to the hospital or graveyard, yes 'yay cameras'.
When we implement a new law or traffic pattern, especially one that involves the quick change of kinetic energy of a 2000 lb vehicle, without any sort of driver training...well, yes you're going to get more accidents.
Sadly, the initial roll outs of red light cameras had all of the (very justifiably wrong) monetary issues that soured everybody on them.
You had the contractor servicing the cameras getting a piece of the ticket in some cases. You have the same incentive for local governments at a time of massive cut backs in state/fed revenue to find new revenue sources.
Those issues definitely soured people on the technology above and beyond actually getting a ticket. But they are also simply implementation details and not any flaw of the technology itself.
"Ron Paul is okay too, I think he may be the closest thing to uncorruptible we have. If only some of his views weren't so bat shit crazy he may be president right now."
Emphasis on 'bat shit crazy'. He sounds good until you actually start asking questions about the details. Much like Libertarianism itself.
Obama and the Dems certainly carry water for the entertainment industry (that's not remotely new news), but the GOP carries water for just as many lobbyists and special interests.
Cutting taxes 18+ times would strike me as not exactly 'jobs-destroying'.
Firing 10,000+ cops will significantly 'hinder' business, which is exactly what the GOP has done in blocking the bill Obama just put forward.

The video in question wasn't video from the Officer London's car. It came from police cruisers that just happened to be stationed along the route. That they would have captured the very instant that a particular event happened during a long procession of cars and her lawyer should have asked for it is a bit of hindsight quarterbacking.
I'm more impressed the video from those cruisers was even maintained for a year and a half.
According to a Countdown guest from Guardian News last night the officer who deployed the pepper spray has at least one pending civil suit against him for similar behavior.
Remember it's not a 4th amendment violation for them to get your data from GM. So you have absolutely no recourse on this.
It's basically the same as the PROTECT IP act I think. Gov't forces ISPs to save data, then Gov't can easily obtain the data without having to get a warrant.
The GM factor is just that they are collecting the data already stored inside your vehicle in a central location.

Besides if the media industry really is as 'creative' as it says it is, they can find ways to monetize just about anything.

If Center Ice didn't exist, there would still be the ability to watch the local games which are on TV, albeit cable, anyway.
I don't know of *any* team which doesn't show the games locally. (NFL does this but blacks them out if not enough people buy tickets)

That's at least a 'small' step towards actually doing something rather than Mike's description of being target simply because he was young and Muslim.
I agree the FBI and the press wildly inflate their successes, but there is a grain of truth here that shouldn't be dismissed me thinks.
