1. Is it possible that this could be considered an illegal dodge of the 25% VAT by claiming it's a magazine when it's intended as album distribution?
2. This seems like it could be a cool idea to start up a true magazine-based "label", with a different band/album each month. Then you could actually have subscriptions, especially if you limited the magazine(s) to a single genre. How well it would work would, of course, depend on execution.
I agree. Presumably, so did the publisher's legal department. People are overreacting, and everyone here seems to recognize that. It's the publisher's choice to not run it by the tweets' authors, and I don't think they did anything wrong, but they would have been wise to expect backlash.
In my experience it's usually been because people are trying to get their annualcreditreport.com reports and don't realize that they're at the wrong site. Anecdotal, I know, but that's been my experience.
This demonstrates a major problem with our legislative systems. We choose these people to represent us so they have time to thoroughly understand issues and choose the best course of action. Then most of them don't bother. I wish I could say I'm surprised.
That is not "ahead". That punishes any attempts at progress, and instead promotes copying what others have already done, since there's no risk. How is that a better situation in the world of drug development? We already have plenty of companies making generics.
I think it's generally been told that an anonymous post came from some company's block of IP addresses, rather than a specific person. Can someone back me up on this?
The home users bought them to use as hobbyist computers and gaming/movie consoles. Why are you treating them as separate groups? These are (or were at the time of purchase) all key features of the console.
Not the point. Part of the reason some people bought their consoles is this key (to them) feature, along with the ability to play new games and watch new movies. Now Sony's making them choose which of the features they lose, not adding functionality. There's a problem here: Sony doesn't have to disable one of these features.
