that an application (or anything) that promotes use of public transit would be a good thing. Unfortunately, this mentality is not present in far too many public transit systems.
They can accuse as many people as they want on the most doubtful evidence and extort money from them. they have enough political clout to prevent them from ever being investigated for extortion or fraud. After all, how much do you think the **AA contributes to politicians and regulatory boards? A lot, whether it's cash to "charities" (read re-election funds or slush funds), drugs, hookers (although I guess these days they have to provide hookers of both sexes), free trips, or whatever. I wonder if they even go as far as to offer to get rid of politicians enemies?. The worst that can happen to **AA is they might get a slap on the wrist from judge they forgot to send money to. Don Corleone said in "The Godfather" (more or less) "2 lawyers can steal more than 10 men with guns", which is probably not the exact quote, but it's to the mark.
An e-mail does not have to go out of the country to make it fair game for the spooks. "Legal" is not a word in the world of the spooks like NSA or the FBI; they just do whatever they feel like.
The entertainment industry plus the **AA know perfectly well how to manipulate the govt agencies. Confusing them with nonsense often works, if that fails fall back to lobbying with money, hookers (although nowdays you probably need hookers of both sexes), and drugs. These always work well.
for would-be murderers: reprogram your victim's GPS so it tells them to drive onto the railroad tracks, over a cliff, or down a boat ramp into a river.
The Labs and Pharm companies are NOT in the business of helping/curing people, plain and simple. They are in the business to make money. If they earn 10 million and their drugs/procedures help 100,000 people they are much happier than if they earned 4 million and the drugs/procedures helped 500,000 people. There's no reason for them to care whether people live or die unless they can possibly get sued if people die from their products; they are ONLY there to make money.
The TV everywhere barcalounger will include built in toilet facilities so you are not allowed to get up to go to the bathroom. Once you pick a show, you will not be able to change channels, volume, or mute or even turn off the TV until the program is over.
I really like the way Amazon allows you to play the short section from a song before you buy it. If they stop doing this because the greedy songwriters demand a performance fee, then people will buy a lot less music. I never buy something on Amazon or iTunes if I can't listen to a sample of it. Maybe the **AA and Songwriters would PREFER that people go to illegal torrents?
Red Light cameras have never been about safety; it's always been about issuing tickets and collecting fines. They enjoy doing things like shortening the yellow so you have no time to react. Accidents always increase with red light cameras.
There will be no sanctions for copyfraud because the providers (NFL, **AS, all sports leagues) have the courts and government bodies in their pockets. It is a simple matter of money - pay the gov't enough protection money and you get whatever laws and legal rulings you want. The government is owned by big business, so taxpayers get screwed.
bribes. Whether it's cash, hookers, cocaine, or virgins, the big business shills like connected nation, will know where to find it and how to get it to the people that make the decisions. You don't really expect the Governor to be interested in what the people want do you? How much of a commission will the governor get from Connected Nation anyway? 1% 5%?
Derek is right. taxes don't put people in office. Bribes, gifts of hookers(of both sexes), heroin, cocaine, travel, food, wine, and the like get you results, which count. That's the way government works; the rich have the money to bribe the government and the taxpayers don't. Once in office elected officials have two big concerns: returning favors to people who got them into office and getting re-elected. Helping the people that voted for them is about dead last in their priorities.
Primary concern is making money, Next comes destroying any competition by whatever legal means they can come up with. Third is finding ways around government rules. Fourth is avoiding lawsuits. Fifth (or maybe lower) is healing people. Pharmacy companies are not in the business of helping people.
