True. That is why bands have to do tours and other things before labels will notice them, and then tell them "Hey, you didn't want to take a chance on us BEFORE we were popular.... GTFO!" and sell all their stuff in person and on the internet.
It would be POETIC JUSTICE if all these recording labels went belly-up because artists realized they didn't need them anymore.
You kidding? The last time that I had to get a picture off my father's phone for him, it cost him .25 cents. There is still a fee for that, to be blunt.
No person taking pictures for their family outings or anything else would DARE use a camera phone for those things. Heck, when I am out looking for pictures in my community, I carry a point & shoot that has 10MP's or more, because I've experienced the bad quality of those camera phones pictures!
Darryl, only in your mind can they 'pick and choose' who to deal business with. In my viewpoint, any business should do business with ANYONE, unless that person is doing something illegal.
Yes, that does mean that these companies should be F O R C E D to do business with anyone, period and done with, unless the police can give them proof that the business or individual in question has ACTUALLY DONE SOMETHING ILLEGAL!
It's called 'discrimination', and in the real world and most country, it is illegal and a civil offense (sometimes CRIMINAL OFFENSE) to do that.
In a few months, there will be a workaround for this thing, where you will be able to play the game totally fine. Hell, not a few months... most likely, a few DAYS!
Nintendo DS piracy is existent, but like with most piracy: IT IS ONLY DONE BY PEOPLE WHO CANNOT AFFORD THE THING IN QUESTION ANYWAY!
Re: Re: About the article that's the subject of this post
Yes, it is. Because with the ENABLEMENT, the guy might have just gotten frustrated and decided that it wasn't worth it and settled down to a normal life.
Hyperbole, mike.... it doesn't do anything to support your arguments and makes people disregard what you said.
Oh, and need I remind: before Pearl Harbor was ALLOWED TO HAPPEN (yes, there are some very credible statements from people that we knew that Japan was going to attack Hawaii), the United States electorate WAS in favor of suing for peace with Germany and Japan or coming to a 'mutual non-aggression' agreement with them.
lux, you are being hardheaded now. The fact is that the FBI was the ONLY organization willing to help this guy do a terrorist attack.... which means that the FBI basically ENTRAPPED this man, because if they hadn't have given him help and support, he might have gotten discouraged and just went back to his normal life.
It isn't, but some idiots would like to think it was just because SOMEONE finally was able to do a terrorist attack on this country and kill a bunch of people.
Even though you are more than 2000 times more likely to die from a car accident in 80 years than a terrorist attack in the United States thus far.
Bullying in and after middle school more amounts to keeping someone from attending events/parties and marginalizing them. That can be INFINITELY MORE HARMFUL than telling someone that you dislike them, harassing them, or giving them a physical beatdown.
I had that happen to me during 5-6 grade, because of a lie that someone spread about me having tried to strangle someone!
Marginalizing someone hurts more than just being jerky towards someone else.
Children do not 'assume a risk' to get killed when they are doing their everyday life things. The fact that you even brought that up makes me disregard almost all of what you posted.
Sounds like the judge finally did some 'internet exploration' and realized that the only way to do some fair use things (playing backup games, etc.) is to 'break' the DRM on these machines.
The DMCA was A BAD PIECE OF LAW! It should have never been passed in the first place, at least not with the anti-circumvention clauses.
We should be LEGALLY ABLE to break DRM on ANYTHING if it keeps us from doing Fair Use things, like playing backups!
If these companies don't like us doing that... MOVE TO A NON-VOLATILE/DAMAGEABLE FORMAT! Meaning.... SSD drives or USB Flash drives.
ICE has also been overstepping the boundaries of the law by doing that, as said by numerous commentators on both the liberal and conservative side of things.
They are just WAITING for the ICE to be slapped down over this bullplop!

If that was true, then the British would have had the right to go out and cap George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, etc.
