Piracy is killing this industry. We are plagued with people trying to download our movies and songs that we keep remaking and building sequels of because there is no such thing as original thought in this industry. Can I kick puppies now?
So, I am not sure about the warehouses, I only know of some people that used to work in the corporate and IT departments in Massachusetts. The office environment rewards throwing other people under the bus. Being super aggressive and making sure others get blamed are what causes the tears and stress. You literally need to get EVERYTHING in writing else it will be used against you in some way. Ask someone to do something you need to do your job and you have no access to it? They say yes and never do it? Not in writing? Your fault. Too much work on your desk because someone else is shirking their duty? Your fault. If someone is better at fibbing than you are or making up believable stories, you will not do well at Amazon. It is why, when I get recruiters sending me requests to apply, I send them emails explaining, in depth, as to why I will never ever apply to work at Amazon. Some day they will get the hint.
The problem with privacy in the electronic world is, it needs to be a world wide effort. You can't have 40 different regulations from 60 different countries because there will be conflicts. They all need to come together and work on it. Sadly, it will not happen in our life time.
I am totally shocked that leadership under the current administration would blame everyone but themselves. I am sorry, if I am responsible for a department like that and told that our network was attacked, I would be jumping up and down to get logs and get it investigated. Ajit didn't bother because HE KNEW it was false. They should all be tried for fraud.
Seriously, they wonder why the wealth gap keeps growing. How the hell do you stay in business like Comcast and Wells Fargo? I should just go out and start my own business. Rip off all my customers and either claim bankruptcy like Trump or just say "Smack my wrist so I can back to cheating my customers please"
I know! As its relative common knowledge, why not just assume they are? No extra expenditures or extra loop holes the congress can use to use to prosecute average people in the name of the law. What will you do to a company that does not properly comply? Have them finance your next re-election? How many laws have been broken by large companies in the last 30 years? How many of those company leaders have gone to jail? How many have gotten more than a wrist slap? Then, lets go to the fact that you feel the law can't stand on its own so you attach it to a bill that "has to be passed" by default?
There are issues that I don't think they are looking at...
No one country can think about enforcing anything on the internet without going the way of the great firewall of China and spying on individuals for no reason. The internet is not just a US thing. It is a WORLD WIDE communication network. Every country would need a say on these laws, otherwise laws are nothing more then SESTA/FOSTA and being just some words on a document that someone flips around in the air to make it look like they are doing god's work. Even the Great firewall, there are ways to get around it to the point that enough of the population knows how to do it.
Re: Re: 'Do better, or you'll join the last company who had the job'
VT, NH and ME did it to Verizon when Verizon continually failed to provide the agreed goals of just looking like they were expanding. Then Fairpoint moved in. I had never heard of Fairpoint until then. I would not be surprised if we see new companies pop up to take up the slack now that the big boys are grounded. The government doesn't have to be the one to run it, just have more say in it to make sure they follow the agreements they make.
And here I thought my police department was extravagant for buying Cadillacs for cruisers. I mean, after all, the city was defaulting and claiming bankruptcy, why not go all out?
This might explain why I am suddenly getting all these scam charity calls all of the sudden. Then there is the "save 30% on your electric bills 30% from random cell numbers
