I represent a lot of powerful people that had their nudie pics stolen from somebody else. I'm not going to tell you who I represent, though; you know the ones.
I'm going to sue you for a bazillion bucks if you don't delete the pics that I'm not going to tell you about; you know the ones.
I'ma lawyer, and stuff. I don't care if you didn't steal the pics. I don't care if you didn't post the pics. I dont' care if you host the pics. You have the money and are big, and mean, and do bad things that the government says you shouldn't do.
Now do what I'm asking, though I didn't tell you specifically what I'm asking; you know the ones.
If you don't, (and how can you?), you will pay me and I'll be rich!
Has anyone reached out to Prof. Lionel Bently to ask him how he feels being labeled a copyright thief by the Premier League? I, for one, would be interested in his reaction.
(I have no horse in this race. I don't care about the show at all. However ....)
If I were a person who likes the Fan-page but dislikes the Official-page, I would have no way to show that except to 'Like' the one and do nothing with the other. By taking my like away (or simply copying it) from the Fan-page to the Official-page, my freedom of speech has now been affected and interfered with. I CHOSE not to like you; don't claim I like you if I liked something similar to you.
I'm guessing the letter was found on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard'.
Someone needs to call up each and every institution/company/organization that has an anti-memory clause and ask them about it. If they respond with anything other than "I have to look that up and read it verbatim to you" then they should be sued for violating their own clause.
There's a funny bit where Team Prenda tries to claim that originally the court thought the case was brought in good faith, so the later bad faith determination shouldn't count.
It's the legal equivalent of "TAP! TAP! NO TAKE-BACKS!"
Thank you for supporting my plan to give you some really cool music and stuff, but I've used all your money to pay off all the stupid legal crap I did.
But you can get in on the ground floor of my new IndieStarter and KickGogo fund raising campaigns that will net you nothing as well!
At what point does the balance of opinion change from a "competitive free market" to "government regulation" as a path that is for the betterment of everyone?
Personally, it's stories like this that sway me toward the side of regulating cable companies like public utilities.
Some genius out there needs to create a web page that lists all of the links Google, et al, remove from their search responses. Make it a wiki so that the reasons for their requested removal can be documented, discussed, and analyzed.
It'll then be interesting to see the loop build as these pages get their search engine removal requests ... and a new wiki-page goes up .... get's listed ... gets a removal request ... lather...rinse...repeat....ad infinitum!
