I downloaded MW2 out of spite alone. I specifically did so because they chose not to support dedicated servers. Meanwhile, it's a lot easier for my downloaded copy to play on the dedicated servers that people made on their own, than it is if I were to buy a legit copy.
Thus, their choices of not supporting the PC model cost them a sale. I would have bought, had their not been DRM and piss poor support for a gaming company of it's class.
Also, dedicated servers prevent activision from being able to drop the game in the same sense of how EA just screwed over people with 08 and 09 sports games.
article says "First, the screening area is surrounded by contoured, blast-proof glass that can contain the detonation of up to 100 kilos of plastic explosive. Only the few dozen people within the screening area need be removed, and only to a point a few metres away."
This doesn't happen in Israel. They also don't use Bomb Boxes, they have a chemical scanner built into the counter you walk up to and place your bag on (if they choose to scrutinize you). That's what they do for the first part.
My bags have been examined, and they are mega-full with stuff on my return trips, and you basically stand there while they inspect the bags with you and/or have you open your bag for them.
I've made multiple trips to and from Israel and they don't use full body scans. They will inspect your bag if they have a reason to, but other than that, at most they might wand someone down.
It's also of note that you don't have to take your shoes off or anything ridiculous, and that they have armed guards that actually know how to use the weapons they have (as most are military). Oh, and they don't have bad lines. I think I spent 10mins through getting the passport stamped and that was it.
Where do they even make up the screening stuff, too? When they check your luggage for further inspection is at a counter with you present, so that they can ask questions if necessary.
old media has enormous pull and somehow gets publicans on horrible garbage like DECE mostly because 90% of the journalists out there aren't even remotely credible but still tend to have links to giant publicans that put out this "DECE IS GREAT" stuff everywhere.
there already is a short lifespan - it's just not been defined because then nobody would buy the books (as that's still a rental).
What you have is called "you have no idea when Amazon's DRM is going to break, but when it does, or they choose to stop supporting their DRM server, you're going to lose your books"
Google's scanning is crap, at least when I tried it previously. Based off of that and due to how it tracks, you can't even read something if you chose to do so. Only about 5 pages usually, I forgot what the default is but it's not "the entire pdf of a scanned book".
Completely useless, is what it all is. People just don't want to give up their purchase/commitment even if there are better options, much like if someone bought you an iphone but it was 3g instead of 3gs.
I think the point is not solely focused at google, but would be clearer if it said "all search engines", really. Since search engines update when they scan versus when twitter updates via when users provide the data to them, it's obvious which direction the information needs to be able to flow for real time purposes.
twitter search, on the other hand, is near useless for their search engine simply due to the direction the data flows.
where do you come up with this crap? How do you suppose the IOC statement came around if it was lululemon that reported it? IOC would have ignored it, probably.
I've been to one of those, and they're quite a good place! They have a calendar of stuff they do around each month involving free yoga classes and they have stuff that my girlfriend absolutely adores. guys, buy your girl a gift there and reap the reward of your girl wearing yoga pants/panties. Not a sponsor here, but I dig it.
Maybe we should change the IOC message? We should say this: ""We expected better sportsmanship from the IOC whom instead attempts to profit from the Games but doesn't support the Games or the success of the Canadian Olympic team."
what are you talkin? they are confronting their accuser, which is a shell company. What I want to know is who is the company not included in this mix. That can probably be figured it by either a: what field is all this competition in or b: if it might be one of the companies being sued themselves to use it as a method of payment to the shell. How to figure that part? Watch the first company who settles.
the estate might want to learn about the value of promotion by, you know, supporting google naming it the nexus one. Here's an idea: how about give a free copy (epub or something) of "do androids dream of electric sheep" to every person who buys a nexus one, thus creating new sales and making these apparently idiotic estate owners richer as some people might buy the book or buy another book by Philip Dick as a result.
that woman who I spoke to the other day (See the update comment in that article about the legal threat from a news site or something) didn't get this either, so it's not at all surprising that a label doesn't get it.

It's not about what you're doing wrong, and more about the right to privacy that shouldn't be able to be abused.
