Re:
No, the MPAA caters to the slack-jawed goobers who line up outside their shitty, overpriced, theaters to watch boring and unoriginal shit that is mostly copies of other boring, unoriginal shit, or sequels to boring, unoriginal shit. They also profit handily from the same obese, super-sizing diabetes candidates and their equally fat kids, selling them boring, unoriginal shit that is designed to kill them off, and one day they will run out of warm bodies to profit from because they helped kill them off. So if large numbers of brain-dead nitwits support them, that doesn't mean they make anything of cultural or artistic value, and as such, their products are essentially worthless, at least to anyone with a brain that functions above the reptilian level. "Almost everyone" is a meaningless and made-up term used to justify their ridiculous position.

Re:
What do you mean "dragged down to the level of selling booze"? Selling booze is a sacred and holy business, keeping millions employed and billions happy, as opposed to peddling diversionary literary rubbish to people who would be better served by drinking it. What are you? One of those temperance promoting hand-wringers decrying Demon Rum?

Sounds like this guy needs to change his Depends. They are probably causing serious skin inflammation, which has now infected his brain. Some people reach the condition of reactionary coot-ism sooner than others, as this case proves.

No, but "artists" flogging copyright are insulting to audiences. Here's another wanker whose music I will make certain never to purchase, or even listen to the crap at all. I actually do buy music, but try to never patronize these parasites in particular.

Actually, Mike, I thought the movie "Idiocracy" was a documentary about the current sociopolitical environment in the US. I like dystopian comedies as much as the next person, but that movie hit too close to home, and based on what I have read in them, most of the forums I lurk or troll on seem to support that. ; )

Maybe I should move to India? Since I already have incurable cancer, and after the first-line drugs no longer work, which they eventually will, and the second line drugs cost more for a course of treatment than I make in a year, and the insurance companies will always deny you coverage for it as long as they can, hoping you die before your appeal is successful, then it is starting to look like a better and better idea. At least there, I might have a shot at staying alive a little longer. I like a lot of Indian foods, too, and their beers aren't bad either, so it looks like we're made for each other. Do they have HBO there?

Re: SO
I would never tell you that the patent system is not a joke. It does appear that most of the judges deciding patent cases are a joke, as well. This particular example of complete, unfettered, and unapologetic idiocy proves that. Once again. Expect more of this. Cue the IP maximalist trolls and the patent lawyer shills.

The ERB lawyers need to find a new career. One with more potential and honor than the one they pursue now. For them, I would suggest they seek employment in certain establishments south of the border, where donkeys are regularly molested for the audience's entertainment, a position for which they already appear to be eminently qualified, if not already experienced. I would pity the donkeys, however. Nonetheless, at least they could then claim they made an honest dollar.

How to properly deal with them.
There once was a man who attempted to illegitimately shut down my roadside frankfurter stand. He began screaming at me in a very loud voice, claiming that I was unfairly competing with his in-town diner, and began threatening my livelihood with expensive litigation. So I cut out his tongue. Angered, he then attempted to punch me in the face, so I cut off his arms. Even more enraged, he finally attempted to kick me in the groin. So I cut off his legs. He then looked at me with his face still twisted in rage and anger and hate and contempt, so I cut off his face, and cut out his eyes, and lastly cut off his head. He no longer presented a threat to my livelihood. He also made a lovely sausage after being ground up, and was then cooked and fed to my Rottweilers. So, perhaps he did serve a purpose after all. Or at least the dogs think so.

Re: Re: But these laws...
Obviously, you do not know. And you never will. Because you are simply too lazy to investigate properly. I, on the other hand, do not care if it was 13 or 13,000, but if it is greater than zero, we have a problem. Your post is pointless and without merit. Good day, sir.

Re: When...
When they send one to me. Believe me, smacking wouldn't even begin to describe the result. Studded gloves and shoes are very effective at correcting inappropriate legal behavior. Then there's the bat.

Since it began as completely unprofessional on the part of the LV attorney, responding in kind was entirely appropriate. It matters not what you think.
