Re: 'It's a terrible thing when YOU do it, but it's my RIGHT to!'
I find it fascinating. I mean, how can you do something while at the same time claiming it's some sort of crime that can be prosecuted when you *hallucinate* others are doing it.
You are right, good laughs. And good psychiatric case study.
It all depends on the point of view. If you see this as an authoritarian, megalomaniac, voyeuristic asshole then it's all collateral damage. The government seems to be suffering with some sort of epidemic of those types.
This should be very concerning to anybody, including the alt-right. If they can go after a black for protesting and doing things they generally dislike but aren't illegal then nothing will stop them from going after anybody else.
That said, I'd like to know if they have some sort of "white identity extremist" surveillance program as well. My bet will go to "no, because bigotry". I say bigotry because racism is but a form of bigotry. Just look at how Arabs and other ethnics are doing in the US as well. I wonder how long will it take till humanity finally evolves from being dumb bigots into really intelligent beings. I'd need to hold my breath for my next few lives to see it.
This is just one of the issues Republicans are positioning themselves in direct confrontation with their constituents. I'm hoping they receive a huge and solid defeat in the next elections.
"now we're all going to leap off the cliff together and see how everyone ends up"
Sometimes you have to hit the bottom of Hell before you realize you are doing it very wrong, stand up and climb again. Won't be the first time humans did it.
The high false positive ratio would be less of a problem if we had proper law enforcement agents and procedures. By normal I mean: match detected, officers go to the person to confirm it visually, ask for IDs if needed and let the false positive go with a smile and politeness. This could be true in a few more civilized countries but we know that it may more often than not result in innocent deaths.
Facial recognition isn't ready for prime time. Neither is law enforcement. Or rather, neither is humanity.
"Free to play mobile games are one thing, but the moment EA tried this in a paid-for console game, the shit hit the fan. "
I think this was the most outrageous example. If I pay for a goddamn full game ($60 an all) I want the goddamn full game. They've been pulling DLC shenanigans out of their arses for a few years now easily quadrupling the original $60 if you want to have the complete thing, specially if the DLC gives some sort of advantage rather than pure cosmetics.
I don't see a solution in the short term. They are exploiting human brain failures to induce and profit from addiction and this is specially problematic when you are talking about children, teens that are not as well experienced to protect themselves.
I've come to despise many game makers for the shenanigans they have been pulling non-stop. Nowadays a company that builds a freaking COMPLETE game that I can play to completion with myself actually differentiates itself from the garbage out there. As a gamer I'm very disgusted by how the gaming industry has been developing. And before the usual moron comes with the "but 100 million games and piracy!" idiocy I have your reply: don't spend 100 million. You don't need bleeding eye graphics and quality for a good game. Good plot lines, soundtrack, controls, mechanics will work with pixellate 16-bit stuff as GOG is there to show us.
I remember some folks a while back saying they had like 300Gb cap on Comcast (if memory serves). This weekend I did some major maintenance in my electronics, including my pc and set up cloud storage for backup purposes. Starting Friday night up to this afternoon I uploaded and downloaded almost 1Tb on my 50/35 connection.
On mobile it's even more outrageous because the speed is not 50, 100 times slower but the limits are. And I'm not even considering autoplaying crap and advertisement.
Re: If 'fresulted in death' isn't excessive, nothing is
As I said in my first comment here, I'd guess decapitation or setting the person on fire while watching they scream and agonize *might* be considered a slightly excessive use of force. Just slightly.
It's actually a great way to kill yourself. Call the police and say whatever about yourself and wait. Of course it will hurt a lot but those are details.

Nobody should label anything by any sort of physical attribute, be it color, height, weight or whatever.
"But there are "white identity extremists" groups whether you use those words to refer to them or not."
That's what we are saying. And the FBI doesn't put nearly as much effort in surveilling and stalking them as with blacks.
I thought that was pretty easy to understand but I forgot there are some people like you.
