At first, he was arrested for camming. Don't know if there were other charges trumped up at that point. He did run, though, so I am sure he was charged with jail time for that. Regardless, the charge he was originally arrested for, camming, was a crime he did not commit.

If Anonymous hacked the info we can rest easy that the information most likely won't be used for malicious purposes. But now we know how well Sony protects personal info...and so do the criminals.

The patent system is designed to protect innovators from copycats.
No it is to promote progress by limiting the use of ideas. Read that again. Progress and limiting used in the same sentence. Sounds like a great government work there...adding the fuzzy definition of limited now patents can last minimum 20 years, which is about 19 years too long in the tech world.

Pundits actually were talking about this. To convince many in the Arab nations they will need pictures. Apparently DNA matching doesn't mean much to them...let alone tweets. =]
If you're a film lover, you want the development costs spread amongst all of the consumers. So everyone who goes to the movies or watches TV has a stake in a fair marketplace.
Except this is not what industry wants, they want everybody to pay even if they don't consume (see: media levies in Canada, government enforcement subsidy in US). And even if the consumers have paid, they want them to pay again...and again.
Of course, AC, you see that the law is on Baidu's side. So to use your common retort for the U.S.A. folk, "Why don't you stop whining about it and get the law changed?"
But, dammit, we have been getting paid for this stuff and now someone does it better for free. There is no point trying to out-innovate the freetards because we would rather spend our time and effort changing laws to make all this free go away and we will be rich again.

Mike, why do you continue to defend this kind of scum? I mean, if you download anything you must be a terrorist. That is why they bring in the SWAT. And think of the children...but not for too long or the doors of that black van outside just might slide open!
/sarcasm - for those to whom it isn't obvious
Are all the precincts in the east time zone reported within three hours after closing? I know some precincts report faster than others but I haven't seen complete election results pop up in less than two hours after closing. Here it seems that balloting closes at 8pm and they don't have half the results by 11pm.
Removing all risk is the problem with actually all government programs. Supposedly the FDA was created to eliminate that risk. Problem is, when the FDA assumes the risk then they get sued when things go bad on FDA approved meds. And when they get sued...the taxpayers pay for it. As long as the legal framework exists for consumers to sue pharma companies for bad meds then we will let pharma foot the bill. Either way taxpayers are already paying for the trials. The FDA is just another government subsidy for the rich and powerful.
