Every time I try and comment on this, I end up getting really angry and swearing a lot.

The law is a joke, finding out where all this muppetry originated is just even more infuriating.

The fact that brought the law in under "urgency" during the national state of emergency after the earthquake is insulting.

Their complete disregard for our fundamental right to be considered innocent until proven guilty is scary.

Let's have a look at the people in parliament making these laws shall we?

Ohhhh so thaaaaat's how laws like this make it in! Doesn't that just make you lose complete hope?

Americans wonder why the rest of the world has such a negative attitude towards their country. Maybe, just maybe it has something to do with your country constantly trying to bully and interfere with other countries to suit your own needs. We don't need you waltzing in here trying to dictate draconian BS laws that you wont even pass in your own country, you don't have to live with this crap, we do and it's not welcome. So bug off and mind your own god damn business.

    Not to mention

Whenever I get emails from services claiming someone has messaged me and I'm not even a member/subscriber to their site they instantly get reported as spam, so I can see this working really well for them...

Hadn't heard of it, and probably wouldn't have either. Now I want to read it.

This might be a little off-topic

And I'm not sure how relevant this is outside of New Zealand, but isn't it possible that renting movies is cheaper than pirating them?

A good quality rip of a movie is going to be 2-4GB, assuming the movie is 4 GB, and depending which ISP you're with, thats around about $8-15 NZD of bandwidth, not taking in to consideration the cost of petrol or the general effort of going out to rent a DVD, you can rent a new release for about $3...

Then again, NZ have to wait like half a year or so before the DVDs end up over here, and our selection of movies is pretty arse...

    Re:

You could always try putting up your own Pirate Bay clone, gaining thousand of followers and file share the shit out of all of their content, and they will get in contact with you!

If you don't want your parents to see you on FaceBook, just don't add them?

My Mother joined Facebook and promptly tried to add me, and I hit ignore, shortly after my Father joined Facebook, and also tried to add me, and this time I just ignored it and left it sitting there.

My Mother didn't know I ignored her request, it didn't inform her of my decision. It came up in a conversation and she told me she had no idea that I had simply ignored her request, and had just assumed I hadn't gotten around to it, so if you're so inclined claim that as your excuse.

When I asked her how many times had she logged into FaceBook since she added me she said "..... Once... Maybe..." so it's not even a problem. But if it's really such a big issue, just do what a couple of my friends have done and make a Family account, and a Friends account, and keep the friends account private.

Personally, I can't be arsed and my parents don't actually _use_ FaceBook.
