What it would do to Mikki D's.
Not selling enough fat-burgers would mean they need a government bailout...

    did you say similar...

Are not all things and ideals similar or progressions from those that came before. Is there really any totally and completely original thought or ideals? I don't think so, don't they all build off of previous ideals that themselves were evolved from those previous to them?

So nothing is truly original, these claimants were just the first to claim, patent or copyright it. Which gives them the ability to exploit it. It's just a matter of time before the air we breath is taxed or licensed to us. Greed.

So Apple's lawsuit with Samsung is a reach since their content is different. We'll see how important the courts think having a similar appearance (both do have rounded corners).

    violent effects?

Is it that violent video games, music and movies create violent people?

    or

Is it that violent people are drawn to violent video games, music, movies?

If the first question's logic were true the world should be one big love fest, since there are many more non-violent video games, and more music and movies about love.

Heck, they are not that real, you sit in climate control, in front of a screen eating food. It's just a release mechanism. Legalize pot if you want more pacifist.

    Re: Wow

"The idea that the government believes that anything created in the US is US property should scare any sane person to the bone."

The big picture of the United States of today should not be confused with the old "land of the free, home of the brave...". It has become a socialist country: the land of the ruling elite and the entitled to everything that is yours or mine, the home of the distracted. Distracted by our own self interest.

BTW, I just got a notice that I'm being taxed on the amount of curb and gutters my house has. Why? Because they can.

    Come on shouldn't the phrases:
    "from the press-your-computer's-power-button?-that's-$49 dept"
    and
"The following is a mockup (emphasis on the first syllable) of Best Buy's..."
    have been a clue?

As outrageous and ludicrous as Tim's satire is, the fact that people fell for it as a real news piece exhibits the same technique BB uses to take advantage of peoples' lack of awareness/alertness to charge ridiculous fees and get money for inferior service/products. The article was close enough to BB's reality, that without careful reading, it left the viewer thinking that it was real. Just like BB does.

    poor Amazon

Since Apple is in a lawsuit with everyone else, they did not want Amazon to feel left out. The app store was the best infringement they could come up with.

    fall of the Roman Empire

Following this line of thinking, Italy should be held responsible for every car accident, since they provide the roads that the accidents take place on. And add in the crimes where criminals exploit the roads to commit their crimes.

It was this type of bureaucratic thinking that brought Rome to it's knees. Doesn't Yahoo know how to grease the skids?
