Yes, entertainment is an extremely powerful drug. Damned unfortunate, especially when you consider the fact that the only reason "Shiny Vampires 3" exists is so someone can make money. It's nothing to do with bringing the best product to the audience./div>
Accessing entertainment, knowledge, information in a way that is most convenient to the individual? I see nothing morally reprehensible about that, especially since the content producer chose to release it to the public. What I do find wrong, is dictating terms under which people are to enjoy the content.
Now, I know there are content mixers who read TD and like to chime in with the "stealing is stealing" meme. Please tell us how you would prefer one legitimate buyer over 10, 20... or 100 "unauthorized" downloads./div>
I wonder what all those artists who support the shutting down of those sites have to say about the fact that their own peers use it to promote their work./div>
It would be nice if people actually cared about industry practices of companies they get their entertainment from. It would be nice if people picked up on the absolute disdain showed by publishers, their authors, retailers, and those in between.
Sure, it's all fine to say "I just wanna read the book, I don't care about anything else." And I get it, but there's a bigger world outside of one's own little wants. Years ago, I bought some bestseller paperbacks, completely unaware of industry practices. I was just happy to be reading. Then I got into ebooks, became interested and educated myself. Very rude awakening, to say the least./div>
Somebody should explain to them that looking like they're about to bust out laughing kind of ruins the effect. But still, well played. It's still funny./div>
Speaking of authors...
Perhaps those already in the industry should start questioning those contract terms. Talk about "destroying authors"./div>
