Whats the difference between a monkey and a camera self-timer. Would he beable to claim copyright to pictures where he set up a camera self-timer and then threw it in the air at the appropriate time? After selecting and editing the pictures would he not own the copyright?
I see no problem with lumping 24,583 users together.
If just one is proved to be falsely accused then wouldn't that would negate all the rest (I.E. there would besignificant doubt that the process for accusation is not flawed).
SO, if I, as a fiction writer, started writing a novel on copyright infringment and used a fictious address for the perpetrators "that is coincidently" just across the road from me, could I sell seats to the insuing Swat team raid....?

I think it's more of a case of expectations, as part of an "event" one would expect cameras and media to be there and taking video and photos. If you don't want in the limelight you don't go to the event.
But while walking down a street one does not expect to have their photo taken and there is no way anyone can do anything about it.
Why would you need to send a confirmation message? How could one not understand that recieving the message STOP from a unique cell phone numbe mean any thing else?
What would be the use of recieving a confirmation from the same said cell phone?

Yet there are products like "hint" flavored waters that have no color yet are popular. Spices you can't see when added to meat, pasta, etc that change the flavors. Salt anyone?
