This will be fun to watch...
As they jack the prices up to where people can't afford them, and those people all cut the cord, and then piracy goes up ... how are they going to spin that?

And the divide grows...
... all the content "controllers" have the same problem - the divide/gap between what they value their content at, and what consumers value it at. The more they increase the price, the fewer consumers are willing to pay as it exceeds their value point.
Shame no one ever tried explaining this to them ...

There should be awards
to the agencies for "longest ignored court order", "most redacted response to court order", "least truthful response"...
I'm sure we can come up with lots of categories to track.. but then again, if someone did publish those statistics, it would be taken down as "fake news" or DMCA'd as publishing copywronged facts...

Another blast from the past...
weren't we calling things like "...by disrupting online media and their financial viability.." Felony Interference with a Business Model???
Maybe the Ad Supported Media age is over? Maybe they didn't get the memo? Maybe we are sick of getting ads that come with malware? Maybe we are sick of full page pop-ups/pop-unders/auto play (at full volume)
Maybe pissing off the consumers of the ads is a bad business model?
At $30/hr by eliminating tens of thousands of jobs at $40/hr. Think of the wonderful executive bonuses those savings will cover ... and all the campaign contributions...
And what else matters? Certainly not those annoying consumers...
Facts are more commonly called "Inconvenient Truths" and are a dying breed in our era of "Least Untruthful" statements from politicians and their paymasters.
As we have seen, "lying" to congress or others is selectively allowed, and selectively prosecuted to the max.
Lying to prevent our leaders from looking bad - lying to prevent embarrassment to our side - no problem; lying to prevent the "other side" from looking bad - TREASON!
Nothing has more power than the Almighty Dollar in politics. Truth, Lies, Facts - all pale in comparison.

Time Travel is NOT possible...
making all social media go away, and google stop indexing their sites, and all the rest of the internet go away is just NOT going to bring back the halcyon days of the 1950's and the supremacy of newspapers. No matter how they wish it would - their time in the sun has ended.
The internet removed government control of the messengers; thus removing control of the message.
And *that* genie is NOT going back into the bottle...
So keep on trying to kill the internet one piece at a time... and it will keep up with its normal response:
