ICE are merely tools doing what they can get away with. The person to blame here are the judges who are obviously just acting as a rubber-stamp approval with zero inquiries into what it is they are signing off on.
I know if I owned a site in which I was accused of distributing child porn I'd be up at the front of the lawsuit line.
Good luck if you accept this and rat out a group of folks who are affiliated with certain crime organizations. Said organizations usually make a lot of cash on sports betting/entertainment. I'm guessing shutting them down wouldn't sit too well.
The fact that you bring up a Nazi analogy completely negates any credibility you may have had. Congrats, stupid.
I'm saying that most of you are attempting to paint TSA agents with a single broad brush as if they have a say in the final outcome of the law. Should they simply just up and leave their jobs? How about a TSA officer with 12 years into a 20 year career after which he draws a pension? Also, sorry about "feeding their families" bit, what was a I thinking? a man should just up and leave his job based on a law that isn't exactly directing people into a fucking gas chamber and hope that his rent, utilities, kids college tuition, etc will come from some vague benefactor. Because God knows that the law can't be tweaked to be less invasive, that'll never happen. Best quit now to appease the rich suburban white-breads who have time to monday-morning quarterback.
This whole thread reminds me of the level discourse you'll see on a youtube video comment thread when a cop does something construed as invading someones rights. Suddenly the entire profession of law enforcement are filled with overcompensating jack-booted racist thugs who should locked up. For site that usually has reasonable intelligent people frequenting the comments, some of you seem to lose all sense of logic.
yes, because its easy to demand OTHERS change by sacrificing their ability to feed their families as you sit comfortably in the glow of your monitor.
You know full well a large government agency isn't going to give a shit about its employees or their perception in the public eye. If they did their reprehensible policies would've changed a year ago. Taking it out on the people caught in the middle is cowardly and smacks self congratulatory ego stroking public grandstanding. How about taking time out of work to go down to TSA headquarters and picket the ones who are to blame?
I had pre ordered the game for the 360 but I'll fess up and admit that I downloaded the leaked version. To slightly disagree with Tim, it not and OLD build per-se but it is significantly buggy and unpolished (its a beta build from January). After playing most of it I can assure you no one is going to drop their pre orders because of it. Theres also the multiplayer which isnt functional. The MP demo was a lot of fun and I beleive many are going to buy it simply to enjoy the online experience which has aspects of Call of Duty unlocks and Halo style gameplay. I won't spoil the single player for anyone but I will say that if you never owned a PS3 and never got a chance to play the most excellent "Resistance", you'll soon get a similar experience coming your way for the 360 and PC.
perhaps you could point me to the report that said the guy had charged at them.
I'm under the (perhaps naive) assumption that all were questioned and from that info they found that one tried being a hero.
I'm on the fence about them being fired but at the same time, I'm not rushing to hammer the "Evil Empire' of Wal-Mart. I can see their concerns as well.
from what I read elsewhere the robber said "Dont make me use this". That being the case all these guys had to do was wait it out. Obviously one of them had visions of glory and ticker-tape parades held in his honor so he went for the grab. That move could have easily left them or others dead.
For once I can understand where Wal-Mart is coming from.
what if I had my general contracting business hosted at that domain and the these pro's put up a banner stating I was taking part in child porn distribution? Is any court willing to assess the possible damages to loss of business and, more importantly, personal reputations?

Feeling the need to debunk a Fox news piece is like having to convince people the Weekly World News isn't on the up-and-up. The ones who read it and believe are already too far gone.
The problem isn't the article, the problem is the amount of attention its getting. The author of the piece knows full well what he's doing because this shit gets repeated a couple of times a year.
A totally over-the-top negative piece is written about videogaming. Add oversensitive fans rushing to set things right to the author, author sits backs and laughs while his piece shoots to the top of the op/ed charts with very little work on his/her part. Traffic peaks at Fox.com and the author gets a pat on the back.

In other words, the guy just trolled game-dom and many fell for it.
Even if it were true, at this point whatever hastens the death of these parasitic companies is justified IMO. There's more than enough evidence that shows that the LAST thing these people cared about was the artists and the art of music.
Artists will still get paid (albeit not in the ridiculous amounts that the successful upper 1% are used to) and music will still be made because some do it because they love it.
