As far as I am concerned, there should be no boundaries on free speech and the minute you do start imposing boundaries or restrictions then speech is no longer free.
What is the point of these 'check in' features of social networks? Have we become so sad as a society that we want to see where our friends have been? It's a pointless feature that seems to be like it has been developed just for the sake of developing it and, as far as I can see, it is only useful if you think your wife is having an affair.
I keep all location services disabled on my phone and tablet and so shall it stay.
It's the same here in the UK. The banks and corporations are the ones really running the country. How is a politician supposed to be impartial when these people are donating massively to their parties or when they have comfortable board jobs lined up for after they finish with politics?
Politics is rotten to the core and the whole system needs a big reboot.
There you go again, painting everyone with the same brush as rabid right wingers are prone to do. Yes, some of the protesters were bent on violence but the overwhelming majority were simply exercising their right to peaceful protest. The fact that the US government can treat peaceful protesters in such a way is what has terrified Ninja.
So? Just because most people are on the Internet, it does not mean that all devices used should also be Internet connected. What benefits are there of having an Internet connected mouse over a bog standard USB mouse? I don't see any.
You know contrary to what right wing US press tells you, the majority of Muslims do NOT want to see the destruction of the West. They simply want to practice their faith in peace as is their right. It is an extremely small (though admittedly vocal) minority who has twisted, not only the meaning of jihad, but also the entire Muslim faith into something it is not just to justify the things they do. That is NOT mainstream Islam.
Yes, jihad means struggle but not struggle in the sense of "fight the infidels". It is most commonly used in terms of an inner spiritual struggle. The "greater jihad" is the inner struggle by a believer to fulfil his religious duties. This is a non-violent meaning that is stressed by Muslims.
Besides, what has Muslim jihad got to do with the Occupy movement?
Did anyone see the season finale of TV show Leverage? What do you think are the chances that such a 'black book' of all illegal transactions that lead to the financial crisis existing in real life?
I reckon the chances have gotten much better having read this story.
People Freak Out About Privacy On Facebook, But Ignore Widespread Government Surveillance
Which is weird because the worst FB will to is target ads at you which can be blocked anyway. Governments and their massive inefficiency are likely to ruin your life with false accusations due to misinterpretation of completely innocuous activities.
