Wouldn't that mean they would have to actually KNOW it first? I for one, while interested in the fact that Mike does actually pay attention to the IP addresses posts are coming from, have no interest in actually knowing what those IP addresses actually are.
While I would tend to agree with you, the problem is that seizing a domain does not equal seizing a server. Perhaps in this case they may have seized servers, but unless I'm really misunderstanding the other cases, all that were seized were the domain names, not the actual hardware and software used for running the site.
It is a legitimate site, but just remember, the CDC put out a guide on preparing for the zombie apocalypse too. Granted it is a blog on the CDC's website, but still....
No disrespect intended DH, but I think you may be mistaken. I believe this is what happens when you have a professional politician in office, his particular color, be it red, blue, green, orange, or any other, is completely irrelevant.
However, once the piece of paper on which the takedown is written is sent to google, it becomes their property. At that point they can do with it whatever the hell they want. The wishes of the sender for the final dispostion of the request are completely and totally irrelevent.
Then of course there is Bhutan where the Chinese backed rebels slandered the complete royal government except for one uncle who just happened not to be at the royal palace at the time.
Some slandered the entire royal family, thought that was a regular occurence with the press in Great Britain.
Sorry, understood the point of your post, but just couldn't resist.
Couldn't this very easily be construed as the government limiting an individual's right to express themselves? I mean, you do have a government agency telling someone what they can and can not say, and threatening their job to boot.
Are you serious? I know a ton of students who use the "international edition" of textbooks. Guess what, other than the cover, they're identical to the US version. Its just a bullshit excuse for the publisher to charge higher prices for the books inside the US.
