I had, a long time ago and it's one of the reasons why I push for felons (even murders, child forcible rapists, etc.) to have the right to vote.
The fact is that they are PART OF THIS SOCIETY whether we like it or not, whether they have done things that society dislikes or not. They SHOULD have the right to vote on things that affect them just as much as they affect everyone else.
Hardly..... do you go out of your way to troll on this, or is it just that you enjoy turning 99% of the people out there against you with bullhockey like this?
True that..... the law should require that when you vote on something that a company is involved in, you are FORBIDDEN from owning stock in that company, taking any gifts from that company, or working for that company for AT LEAST 5 years... better lifetime!
Sorry, lady..... what you did is NOT ethical in the slightest and REEKS of corruption. It's time to admit that and for the government to set aside the decision on the Comcast merger until these questions are answered and they can investigate whether other people might have been as corrupt as you are!
I swear..... it's people like this woman who get me angry at our system of government.
Re: Re: Re: terrible thinking - like an accountant
Actually, 99% of patent lawsuits ARE frivilous. Why? Because you were NOT supposed to be able to get a patent on a PART of an invention, only on the FULL invention.
Such as you were not supposed to be able to get a patent on a part of code in Microsoft Office that allows complex calculations to be done, but only on Microsoft Office as a whole.
Agreed. The fact is that if you are smart and have a law degree as WELL as a business degree, you can do most of the stuff yourself and cut out the lawyers.
Hell, even a regular working stiff can do that, many websites have forms that you fill out when you are suing someone and just plug in the names, facts, etc.
Actually, considering that Pakistan (a supposed ally) didn't approve the raid, it probably wasn't legal on the face of it.
Necessary, yes. Legal, no. The killing of Osama bin Laden was another thing altogether.... neither legal nor necessary to shoot an UNARMED man, except that some 'secrets' might have come to light that our government might not have liked... perhaps CIA involvement in Al-Qaeda.
Yes, people... it is QUITE possible that the CIA have had people in Al-Qaeda for years.
True..... considering the government didn't encrypt a bunch of stuff and didn't limit a bunch of stuff so that a PRIVATE was able to leak a lot of Top Secret level stuff (though not as much as you would think or was claimed)... I can understand Bin Laden not using encryption.
That might be part of the reason why they are being used. However, there is a civilian version of a warrant that serves the same purpose.... which makes me wonder by the civilian version is not being used.
The problem with that is that 'immorality' is in the eye of the beholder/the person doing the judging. There is VERY little consensus on what things are truly 'immoral' in the world among people when it comes down to brass tacks.
I have to agree, DCX2.... bob sounds like a copyright/law&order troll who apparently cannot realize that there is a difference between civil and criminal investigations.
Oh, and with all due respect, bob.... no, they do NOT send everyone away if there is ambiguity.
The thing that you referred to, where someone rides along in a robbery, is stated that they are taking part in the robbery so anything that happens there is somewhat their fault, even a murder that happens, because they KNOW that they are there to rob the place.
The same thing does NOT hold true for copyright infringement, where someone could be using someone else's connection illegitimately without their knowledge.

Actually, the United States has the exact opposite saying: It is better for 10 guilty men to go free than one innocent man to spend a minute in prison!
With all due respect, federal spending is not anywhere near 'record levels' when you take into account inflation. When you do that, you find out that we were spending a lot more in the 1970's than we are today.
Since we have ALSO increased our population by a good amount since then? I don't understand why people would say that federal spending should go DOWN right now.
What you apparently don't realize is that doctors can coerce or manipulate statements from children that make it appear that there is child abuse or 'a danger' to the children in question.
They have done it many times in cases where there was 'suspected 'sexual abuse'' being referred to.
Benny6Toes, what you miss is that pediatricians and gun haters WILL do those things. Hell, there have been cases lately of them asking leading questions of children who are suspected of being physically abused, to the point where the judges gave some jail time for contempt of court to people who were testifying once they heard the questions that were used.

Jails/prisons have NEVER been a deterrent and neither has the death penalty, regardless of what "LAW & ORDAH!" nuts like to say about it.
Add to this that a good 80%+ of the things on the lawbooks should NOT be crimes and you have another reason why jail isn't a deterrent.
