If this were to actually go forward as a defamation-type lawsuit, could the defense subpoena Marty Thomas medical records to corroborate their clients story?
Curious because it seems extremely hard to attain one's own medical records in some states these days, much less get access to someone else records.
(That cannot be a native BD format file with the same compression (or lack thereof for audio) and color scheme as you will find on disk. If you had the same compression and color scheme as BD format it would have been a 20-30GB download. You're still missing something from the image quality standpoint compared to the BD, granted once you get past all the junk.)
Anonymous is amorphous. Anonymous is also faced with the same philosophical/practical conundrum as true, idealist Libertarians. Many who hook up would like to do some good, but being largely anarchistic (civil or not) don't truly give a rats ass about the system, and whomever does end up organizing activity often end up doing stupid shit.
Is there some secret IP address that no one knows about that a terrorist might find out about and use it to DDOS a transformer?
No, as others have said, the management systems for the power grid are not directly connected to the Internet.
I believe one of the hyped up fears, as far as direct attacks from the Internet are concerned, is that someone's desktop might be set up with an Internet connection and an out of band connection to the power grid management system. This theoretical system (I cannot say one exists, and I would bet it would violate security policy at the power companies) could be compromised over the Internet, and if remote control were attained, someone could access the power grid management system.
However, as always, the greatest threat for a successful hack comes from an "inside job".
Anyone who is named in the suit should contact the Canadian Civil Liberties association and ask to speak to Cara, or please get in touch wiIth me @ advize2010@yahoo.com.

Glen Beck?
Either UMG or Glen Beck... not sure yet.
The problem with fair use is there has been no clear definition of fair use since fair use was codified in in the Copyright Act 1976. It's one of the inherent problems with copyright law as it stands today.
Let me help you through the legal experience: If you have the money.. it's fair use. Otherwise, bend over.
"The initial assessment in no way discounts the risk to national security," Gates wrote. "However, the review to date has not revealed any sensitive intelligence sources and methods compromised by the disclosure."
Well, now that this is all cleared up let's go ahead and invade Iceland, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, UC Berkeley and Australia. It's the only way to be sure.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: In practice it already is the default
A rights holder always hold the initial burden of proof to present evidence that a defendant has infringed one or more of the exclusive rights accorded under copyright law to a rights holder.
True they must put something forth to start a case. My only potential problem is that the standards for burden of proof should be more empirical than a note scribbled on a cocktail napkin supported by 10,000 legal motions. (Hint: It's the 10,000 legal motions that really count.)
Creativity will be hurt and the world a sadder place if the individual creator is not defended.
Who is defending individual creators now? From what I've seen, unless it is an individual on individual suit, the individual creators are steamrolled en masse by copyright holding corps with lawyers in legion.
I feel you have done as good a job as possible justifying the existence of the IPEC, however I do not think the office has shown it is even in the same universe as the ideal you illustrate.
If the IP Czar is to try and balance input from all stakeholders, why are consumer groups denied access to the ACTA process?
For that matter, why is ACTA kept secret from the public? We know why mainstream media has no interest in covering (exposing) the negotiations, but there is no justification for actually withholding information from the public.
Lastly, if there were actually an attempt to make IP enforcement fair and balanced, why on Earth would the U.S. block the Senate from negotiating the treaty by calling it an Executive Agreement?
I admire your writing, and your effort, but I'm just not seeing any support for stakeholders outside of the supply side here.
If Victoria really want to come off as having factored consumer interests into IP enforcement policy attempts, she needs to try a hell of a lot harder.
Beck is an interesting entertainer, in an infomercial kind of way. I see what he's trying to sell and his compelling-in-a-way emotionally pitched delivery, yet I pity the poor souls who actually buy it.
Actually.. I guess that's how I view all so-called partisan discourse these days.
Point: "You're gonna love my nuts."
Counter-point: "No way.. they're activated by the water that you and I drink!"

Most here support copyright reform and alternatives which would favor the actual creator over some fence company set up to feed off the creativity of others.
