Then perhaps this will help:
The information-communications-technology-producing industries returned to its pre-business cycle trend of double-digit growth, increasing 14.7 percent in 2010 after two consecutive years of single-digit growth. ...

Medication needed!
While it is true that there is an epidemic of over prescribed medication in this country, there ARE those who legitimately require these medications from time to time...
Rockefeller, Feinstein, Napolitano, McCain, and especially Lieberman need some serious therapy and medication to help them get through this period of panic they seem to be stuck in. Seriously, they need to sit down, relax a little, and STFU...

And if someone wanted to really screw with you for some reason and planted a packet of crack in your car while you are in the store and then calls the police with a "tip" about you having illegal narcotics in your car? Are you guilty?
What if a LEO had a gripe against you and did this him/herself and then arrested you to up their arrest rate statistics...are you still guilty?
Should you be arrested for that crack in your car if some perp tried to hide their illegal activities while running from the police by throwing the evidence into an open window while you were away from your vehicle?

Re: Re: Re:
You guys always push that IP addresses aren't enough to convict anyone. Well, why should they be enough to prove that the site owners didn't put up the content?
Think about it. I know it is hard, but THINK.
And if someone calls the police with accusations of your wife beating activities you will not scream when they cuff you and throw you in the back of the squad car in front of all your neighbors then?

Re:
Why would they want to wade into a room full of screaming children? There is little advantage to them, little benefit. You can imagine that pretty much every question asked would be as slanted as Marcus Carab's view of the world. ...
Don't worry, I am certain the tech experts can handle the crying, pissing, and moaning coming from the **AA babies. As for why they may wish to engage in this activity? Well, look no further than grassroots efforts to retire those members of Congress who failed to listen and paid heed to the growing dissatisfaction of the public.

Re: Editors and Reviewers
Yet, after sifting through a substantial amount of low quality material it seems that as gatekeepers become less necessary, editors and reviewers to help identify, refine, and highlight the work that is of genuinely high quality will become far more significant.
Exactly...Remember what the Internet and discussion forums were like back in the late 90's? 1,000 posts/sites of trash for every gem worth reading and finding anything was a chore that only those who also tolerated reading firewall logs could do with any regularity or focus.
Now you have groups of roving researchers, bloggers, and enthusiastic "ammeters" that have refined this to an art for the benefit of all. This is actually creative work that deserves recognition and praise...
...Indignation leveled at copyright law and the DMCA may prove to be premature, and perhaps even wrong.
Why? The reason this entire episode occurred was due to the DMCA as it is written. I actually hope Chrysler takes the NFL to court for tortuous interference with their business plan and that the NFL pay treble damages...

Re: Re: Unicycle
There is only one party in the US--they just like to give off the illusion of being two parties. Also, the illusion of being a democratic republic.
This was certainly true for a long time, but things started unraveling for the status-qua around the time Ross Perot had his 15 minutes back in the 90's which then led to the Tea Party fracture in 2010.
What made the structure work and keep things relatively stable was the strong middle where actual deals got made with real governance that kept the extremes in check by throwing them a bone now and again. What we have currently is an evolution of the fracturing that will most likely continue, but more so on the left which has some catching up to do.
I expect this process to continue even if Obama wins this year, but see it accelerating should he loose in November.
That is the point...no Ambassador for any country has liberty to go "rogue" and do as they please. Our Ambassadors serve at the pleasure of the President and I am reasonably certain that other country's Ambassadors are similarly responsible to the leader of their governments as well.
They do as they are told, when they are told..period.
One important thing to keep in mind here is that fact that she is an Ambassador; a position that is supposed to be the eyes, ears, and mouth for the country she serves. Would an American Ambassador have any greater liberty with anything they were specifically instructed to do by our government?
Don't be so surprised that an Ambassador would have little or no recourse but to do exactly as instructed. In a way, I applaud her honesty and sincere desire for forgiveness from her countrymen - would be inspiring to see more of this on the International stage...

The predictable kind is better as you can plan for what they will be likely to do at any given point. Gingrich is too unstable and vindictive to be given that level of power...

Are Democrats About To Lose An Entire Generation Of Voters By Pushing PIPA/SOPA Forward?
...Yes, and it is also beginning to move the older generations as well. I have Uncles, born in the 1940's who had been long time Democrats dropping their party affiliations to become Independents because the Dems went corporate rather than fighting for economic and social justice and I am seriously thinking of going in the same direction precisely because of SOPA/PIPA, NDAA, DMCA, warrentless wiretapping, Crony Capitalism, Patriot Act, etc, etc, etc.
To everything under the sun, there is a time...perhaps it is the time for the traditional parties to see their time end as well...
