"Don't believe anything of this "leak" until people are actually in JAIL for the known crimes. Otherwise, even if true, it's JUST theater."
So does that mean even though Alexander and Clapper have have admitted to lying under oath to Congress, I shouldn't believe they lied since they are not going to jail?
I am so tired of power junky control freaks in a position of authority. Since they think privacy is obsolete and we if we're doing nothing wrong we shouldn't care about these privacy violations, then I propose the following. Before they can put these type of policies in effect for one year prior they must do the following:
1) Post all personnal financial data and metadata of all communications updated in real time.
2) Have a real time audio and video feed of their all activities all the time.
3) Have to go naked (for some of these folks that will be a hardship on us) all the time.
If they think their policies are so important to public safety that they agree to these immodest proposals, I might rethink my objections to them.
"Duffy is going to realize that if he keeps making this argument, he's actually hanging himself out to dry, almost certainly leading up to Steele and Hansmeier quickly tossing Duffy under the bus when the opportunity permits (one assumes soon after they're done doing the same to Mark Lutz)."
Before that there were Alan Cooper and Bret Gibbs. This is starting look like an absurd version of Agatha Cristie's "Ten Little Indians".
Of course the games shouldn't be banned. However; if you're talking about banning the GTA5 TV commercials I'm on board. In addition to being annoying they are right in the middle of the uncanny valley.
I figured they settled on 54 as the number of plots for the same reason it was chosen in "The Manchurian Candidate". At breakfast one morning Senator John Yerkes Iselin (James Gregory) is complaining to his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Shaw Iselin (Angela Lansbury) that he can't keep track of how many communist have supositly have infiltrated the government. After an exasperated sigh she looks across the breakfast table and see a bottle of Hienz ketsup and tells him its 54.
Please tell me you're trolling and don't believe what you wrote. Seriously, "not (the fault of) the people who instituted that unconstitutional and illegal rule"?
Re: Why does every hack want to taint his source with crappy imitation?
Frequently remakes are lousy. As Theodore Sturgeon stated "90 percent of everything is crap", personally I've always thought he was being generous. But, that's the point it isn't just the remakes that are terrible some times it is also the source material.
To decide in advance that something is now a classic and can never be touched is wrong on so many levels. It denies everyone in the future the ability to play with an idea or concept. Will most of them suck? Yep, but that gem that you would deny the chance to come into existence makes it worth plowing through the dross.
So we have moved from security theatre to a protection racket? Hey, that's a nice bottle of Dansi you have there, be a real shame if something happened to it.
Only two things will survive a nuclear war cockroaches and copyright. Which is only right and fair that the cockroaches will have to life with something disgusting.
"And we see this same attitude all over the black community today."
He's right you know. Just look at some of those other lazy blacks riding on their dead parent's coattails. Like J.R.R. Tolkien's son, The Walton heirs, generations of Rockefellers, F. Scott Fitzgerald's descendants, and the list goes on and on.
Just so you know I was being sarcastic. Normally I wouldn't bother to point that out, but since you don't seem to get irony ("NOT racist" followed by ending your post with a racist comment) I wanted to be clear.
For all those defending this guy because it was statutory rape and not forcible rape a couple of points.
1) He was a teacher who's job it is to guide, train, and PROTECT students.
2) He is an adult. Even if she was willing and initiated it, he should have known it was wrong and said no.
Because he failed at both of these and took advantage of a child he suffered several consequences (well deserved). However; he also should have had a much, much longer jail term not only because deserved it, but also as a deterrent to others.
Finally anyone defending or attempting to justify this guys actions should not be left alone with children.
