I have a feeling that much of what she said was filtered when explained to the DA to get the charges going.
This is a complete shitshow but has anyone stopped and asked the obvious question being ignored in this??
How often do cops go shopping for those that only bolster the narrative they decided is correct, how often do they withhold evidence to get a finding... how many people are in prison right now for no reason other than a cop decided they HAD to be guilty & ignored all other evidence?

"how to resolve online copyright piracy."
Well step one would be to stop calling it piracy, not only are pirates really cool but no one sank Sonys ship & forced her crew into slavery.
Then getting ACTUAL numbers, not just fantasies, about what if any actual losses are happening.
Then remind law makers that all of those poor workers on the content are paid flat rates and if 500 people see an episode without paying they aren't harmed.
Then someone to explain how keeping Steamboat willie locked up encourages Walts frozen head to make more content.
Then I'd love for Senator Tillis to answer why he left the most important stake holder out of these discussions, the public shouldn't have to make more donations to get a seat at the table to ask why the life destroying amount of damages still exists when there aren't organized gangs making billions by putting a crappy cammed version of a movie online.
Then we can cover why the hell remastering is allowed to extend copyright even longer destroying our common heritage & violating the deal... for a limited time should really not exceed 2 generations lifetimes but here the fsck we are.

I honestly am still waiting for someone to explain how cops can order EMS techs to administer ketamine.
I know one of the stories they claimed it was part of a study, but never offered up who was supervising it, how they could get informed consent from detained citizens, what medical ethics body green lighted the idea of injecting random meds on police demand.
The fact that this is happening in more than 1 state & has a bodycount attached to it and no ones done anything to stop it really makes you wonder if the DOJ has already awarded QI to all of the parties involved because they haven't managed to off white folk yet.

no no no, its all because of the website talking about suicide.
13 Reasons Why made kids kill themselves because it was trendy, not because of anything else.
We can't discuss it because to even mention it is to plant the idea in the minds of children.

Its the same magical thinking that screws us time & time again.
The agency that oversees disaster flood claims.
They hired a bunch of insurance wonks to help speed things up.
Problem was no one told the wonks that if the agency ran out of cash it was doing the job correctly.
They stopped paying as much, denied claims, & were all excited they saved money... by screwing people ravaged by floods.
What was supposed to make the agency better made it much worse.

Yes they are dumb enough to think the only qualified people are those who demand more & more law & punishment while allowing the rightsholders to screw everyone & never bear the burden of the costs when they fuck up.

We've watched a Congresscritter saying Jan 6 was just like normal tourists visiting while the video of the insurection & photos of the fear on his face trying to block the door & get an armed officer to protect him...
Truth no longer matters to many people, just empty phrases & hollow claims.
I miss critical thinking & the reality of what you can see/hear/feel winning over those claiming it didn't happen like that.

pouts no one ever checks my submissions grumble grumble
It was very nice to see the reporters on PBS News Hour trying to tap dance around actually saying 230 & talking about the unnamed law that allows these evil evil evil people to tell others how to commit suicide. (It was also cute how they were pointing out that they weren't naming the website while it seems they did elsewhere)
The heart wrenching story of a family who lost their son to suicide, they didn't know he was suicidal even his best friend didn't know.
Of course they only briefly mentioned the illness the son was dealing with.
Imagine if you ate & then were doubled over in massive pain every single time.
Imagine how many doctors tell you there is nothing that can be done.
Imagine how people in chronic pain stop being truthful about how they are feeling because they get tired of "helpful" people irritating them even more.
But still it was the website that caused it to happen, there is no way someone dealing with chronic pain with no hope of things ever getting better, who can't eat without ending up in massive pain would consider ending it all without asking permission of everyone around them. o_O
google "Why a website with explicit directions for suicide remains active" and see the episode for yourself.
(why yes I have given up on trying to post links)
That thing I've described where humans spend more time making sure the blame is properly assigned & attacked while ignoring the actual problems.
Lets close the website & it will end suicide.
We can declare job done & move on.
We don't need to tackle the very real problems of no mental health resources to help people in crisis.
We don't need to do anything but close that website & go back to telling people suffering to just buck up.

Well on the upside I'm guessing any busts this cop ever made will end up being reviewed.
He withheld the truth from the coroner he shopped his story to, so obviously not the first time facts haven't mattered to him.
The coroner needs to be slapped simply for being willing to issue a finding based on word of mouth instead of the case file itself, the whole well if they way to told it to me means your right isn't a fig leaf to hide behind.
You issued a finding in your professional role based solely on what a 3rd party told you that put a man in jail on charges not supported by ANY actual evidence, expect your cases to be reviewed as well.
Your finding was taken as fact and you fully admitted it was based only on what was told to you so ummm enjoy the civil suit.
