I don't think the site has ever really kept IP logs. Now that doesn't mean it won't in the future, but if that's a worry then don't use TPB. There are plenty of other places to go.
since when are the labels not making money? Last I checked they've been making money hand over fist on all of the music lovers out there for the last half century.
As a side note, (I'm not defending AT&T because those charges are ridiculous) If you go to Settings-->General-->Network on your iPhone you'll see an option called "Data Roaming" which is off by default (at least on mine it was) which the sub caption underneath says "Turn Data roaming off when abroad to avoid substantial roaming charges when using email, web browsing and other data services"
...but digital starter package only contains channels 2-99 and limited access to On-Demand.
I pay for their internet ($45/m) and the extended basic analog Cable ($15/m) for a total of $60/m. I get channels 2-99 plus a whole bunch over 100 once I got an LCD that has a digital tuner, all my locals in hi-def etc. Only thing I don't get is "on-demand", big deal. Costs me 60/m without a promotion.
Does the music you get from eMusic have DRM in it? If not, then I don't see how stopping people from redownloading what they have purchased would curb piracy as they can just share the files via email/FTP/USB Flash etc.
Those facts puts dealing with customers' left-behind items in the scope of employment of McDonald's workers.
That's why McD's has a policy that if an employee finds customer property that was left behind they're supposed to turn it in to management. IF this particular employee found the phone, put it in their pocket, took it home and uploaded information from it to the web then I don't see how any of that could be McDonald's fault or even preventable by them. All that does is endanger the employee's future employment with the company.
Almost everyone uses iTunes in some form, or at least has it on their computer.
LOL, uh no, you killed any argument you may have had with that right there. Everyone on the PC side that can't stand crapple will NOT have iTunes on their PC. I'm sorry to break it to you, but that's the VAST majority of the market.
Perhaps if you read my comment with links above you could try Microsoft's Accounting package. Maybe that would offer a more seamless conversion than to Intuit products.
Or they could be discontinuing the Money product because they have their Accounting Express product which is free and the Accounting Professional product which competes with the Quickbooks products.
He does have a Dr degree and several best selling books... I'd say he definitely not a stupid person. Whether or not this whole stunt was on purpose, who knows if he's THAT clever.
My prediction is that within 18 mohths (end 2010) the only torrent search / seek sites left standing will be hosting in russia, china, or other similar isolated jurisdictions.

As true as that may be, just imagine how many lawyers 100 men with guns could kill.

Surprised?
...I am honestly surprised that the NY Times got this one so badly wrong, and that they've been so slow to do anything about it.
Why? This is par for the course for most newspapers, especially the NY Times.
