Right on cue! Mr darryl Nameless arrives and spews!
How about the argument that the music is more necessary to relax people at a dentist's, whereas the hotel is somewhere the ambience and enjoyment is usually a lot higher, and it's somewhat more likely you've chosen to be there?
We're having a civilised debate here, so how about you try really really hard to prove that you can be civilised, instead of proving why we sent all our gutter scum to the Antipodes?
"You zombie mpaa stooges are quite an amusing bunch. You're willing to defend whatever action they take no matter how perverted it is."
That's the strength of your argument? "How dare Google oppose us, we can buy laws and congressmen/senators with impunity, but if they lobby even a little it's TEH EBBIL!!1!."
How is organising a public protest involving a lot of people uninterested in piracy (like security experts) as well as large amounts of the public in a democratic and visible manner "perverted"?
So how come they haven't figured out how to pirate money from piracy? They've tried pirating money from everyone else, including grannies, printers and most of all the artists.
Admit it, the *AAs couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery, especially not without needing separate, conflicting licences to enter, take part, watch others taking part, actually imbibe, actually imbibe alcohol, get tipsy, get drunk, with added licences for throwing up and going to the bathroom, not to mention suing people for having hangovers the next day. Then you'll need to pay a licencing fee for the memories, plus additional charges if you 'lost' yours. And woe betide you if you 'pirate' your memories (i.e. share) them with anyone...
Ah, but what you're forgetting is that this is a clear case of 'lowly servant venerating wise massah' from the 'good old days' when peons knew their place - so they'll encourage it as a good example overall.
Besides, he gets safely married and sprogs and only follows his old master when about to die. Not exactly Brokeback Mountain.
Probably because the first one I read was actually Speaker for the Dead, I do like the later books, although they are almost a different sub-genre, and certainly have a very different feel - older, mature Ender is really a different person to child Ender. The newer books are making an interesting attempt to try and show the progression here, which might help. Anyway, the later on books are much more philisophical in a different way, but it all goes into the nature and morality of Xenocide and racial survival.
Actually, it's the other way around. Lot's daughters got /him/ drunk and had sex with him. Every red-blooded goat herder's fantasy. Apart from /that/ one... ;)
Mike loves to highlight stupidity in all sorts of forms. Don't like it, go start your own blog :) Me, I love this book so any news about it is good. In fact, I only just re-read it last month... gotta get the rest of the Shadow series!
Oh ye gods, I never thought I'd be following this argument not on a Creationist forum but on a tech forum.
What amuses me is how the more 'religious' (read: insecure) Christians feel the need to try and 'disprove' or deny the existence of atheism, as if by its very existence it negates god.
I have seen left-wingers (real ones, not american 'light' ones) get this funky about things, so I could imagine them calling this pornographic for other reasons, but I must admit, South Carolina, not New England does suggest...
That is the most lame way of trying to justify porn I have ever read.
"The book in fact caters towards two related fetishes. The most obvious of these is geek wish-fulfillment."
"In the best traditions of porn, each chapter is simply a build-up to a catharsis."
"There is no dramatic tension or genuine excitement about any of these encounters; the only tension comes from how long the inevitable catharsis can be delayed."
This could be said for the average mystery novel or most van Damme movies...
Basically this person is saying "how dare nerds gratify their wish for revenge on all those righteous jocks who pummelled them in the locker room".

Enough with the sour grapes.

Whoever they are, they certainly have issues.
