FaceBook's inability (failure) to get privacy settings to actually, you know, provide privacy -- and Reality TV are why the 4th Amendment has been replealed by the public? At least I know now that I was right about these two evil wastes of time.
Does this stupid authentication law apply to only the police?
I wonder if this scumbag used the same lame excuse of not being able to authenticate a video to get off being charged?
I did a quick internet search about this law but was unable to find it. Anyone out there with more time on their hands than I that maybe has found this? I just want to see how it is worded and if it only applies to police videos.
Since motel records are kept in a computer I am sure CISPA will be able to be used by police without a warrant to "find out there's [illegal] activity of this nature going on through sting operations or because of what they see."
The talking heads of the media have the attention span of a gnat, and are more interesed in a plane wreck in San Fransico now than pretty much any thing else.
So at least the demonizing of someone who should be hailed as hero and an exposer of government corruption has paused for a moment.
What's worse than realizing you've left your windows down in a rainstorm?
Crap! It's raining and I left my cardboard bike outside. That's okay I'll call my house using my Wie phone.
Crap! not sure how/if this thing works.
Maybe it is not the Wie phone... Maybe my augmented glasses are malfunctioning and not letting me see my phone.
I guess living on the bleeding edge may not be worth it.
Just after the dinosaurs all died and this Internet thingy came into common usage, and the HTTPS had yet to be drafted... Visa and MasterCard wanted to force everyone to use their security protocols. After some wrangling both companies realized eventually that a single security protocol not nessicarly invented by them would better serve the public and their interests.
This was a real debate when most websites did not offer a method of purchasing anything and most had rows flaming skulls as a part of their web design.
My guess is that these credit card companies will eventually give up fighting against VPN for similar reasons. It just takes these two duo-opolies a little while to come to grips with reality.
Google Wallet just got installed at my local grocery store.
I use PayPal almost exclusively for purchases.
(Yes I realize that those are not technically credit card service companies, but it does add a bit of a private firewall)
I wish more merchants took American Express and Discover.
The unfortunate thing is that I used to work with someone of this namesake. I would get an IM about once a day from him. Immagine my suprise when my phone rang and a female sounding person introduced themselves as Poonam. I am not making this up. That is her real name.
We should make our own coffee mugs in the shape of prescription bottles and sell them.
Of course we would then face a copyright or trademark or patent court battles even though the products have been "pulled". Never mind. Not such a great idea after all.
As to Clapper's statements to Congress there is some difficulty in justifiably assigning to it the fourth of the epithets he applied to the statement, inasmuch as the precise correlation between the information Clapper communicated and the facts, insofar as they can be determined and demonstrated, is such as to cause epistemological problems, of sufficient magnitude as to lay upon the logical and semantic resources of the English language a heavier burden than they can reasonably be expected to bear.
I'm so sick of the media saying "Snowden needs to be brought to justice".
When is James (liar) Clapper going to be "brought to justice" for lying to Congress?
I get emails every day from NewEgg not one of these promotions mentioned anti-patent troll t-shirts. In fact if it was not for Techdirt I would have not known about this.
I've had nothing but good experience with Newegg. I've bought a few things that did not work the way they should and each and every time Newegg and their vendors went out of their way to make either get it working or refund me my money.
The fact that they are bringing to light patent problems is not backwards as you claim and they certainly haven't made it a focus/priority of their business. It's nice to see a company have some balls for once and fight these trolling asshats. So I commend them not condemn them.
The major news outlets and journalists are already run by government and corporate interests. Just watch CNN for less than 5 minutes and you will see this. Sen. Dick Durbin just wants a legislative seal to protect what already is.
Poonam had been training at an Indian call center and his boss says to him:
Poonam you've done really well. Before I can put you out on the floor you have one test left. You need to use the words Yellow, Pink and Green in a sentence.
Poonam said: The phone goes green, green, green. I pink it up and I say yellow this is Poonam.
Poonam now works full time at the call center.
Commander William Adama: There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people.
I fear that, as conditions worsen, many will react to the failures of too much government by calling for even more government. Then there will be more and more lifeboats launched because fewer and fewer citizens know how to swim. Unlike some pendulums, political pendulums do not swing back automatically; they must be pushed. History is full of instances when people have waited in vain for pendulums to swing back.
I actually agree with you. The US had many many civil liberty problems in the sixties: segregation being one of the best examples. Later, Watergate being an example of government corruption and deception.
My intention was more of a comparison that when constitutional principles are maintained and upheld then there is liberty. When these are not followed and a government is unfettered or subverts constitutional law then is when the citizens become fettered and restrained.
As I'm sure you already know, but your trolling tiny brain does not allow you to accept is that I was making the point that stupid laws or even well meaning laws can be perverted and used as a weapon. Here are the links to why I brought up lobsters:
