Congress can pass all the laws they want but idiots (read: government) will still leave their networks "less secure". Just more laws to punish those they despise and turn heads/wrist slap those they favor.

Your saying that Louis CK didn't hire any of those people to do work on his film? He single-handedly starred, directed, produced, wrote script, wrote/performed music, dubbed, edited, etc. all by himself?
Oh wait! He did hire people to do that for him and paid them for their work. Nice try!
I just disagree with Anonymous Coward, and I find he is bring (sic) a prick thinking that some snot nose kid from a shill troll farm can tell the world how to work.
He's a pathetic wimp keyboard warrior. His comments should be stopped, he is a stain on the site.
As long as you are waiting why don't you ask your cubicle mate at the paid shill farm to prove the assertion that ending infringement would double, well, pretty much everything magically?
And without piracy and flagrant acts of copyright infringement those numbers would read:
• IP-intensive industries contributed $10 trillion to the U.S. economy or 70 percent of GDP in 2010
• 100 million jobs, or 60 percent of all jobs, were directly or indirectly attributable to the most IP-intensive industries in 2010
Then Mike, how would you ever be able to justify your self-important position in the world?
Might I add, so self-important that you have the never ending urge to come here every day, every post spouting baseless claims and attacks with not a single justification for your views on the topics. The fact you trolls show up here is justification enough that what Mike does is important...and it threatens you (or your paymasters) directly.
Wasn't there a recent story of a kid who kicked his bully in the nutz in self defense and proceeded to be registered as a sex offender?
Okay, he was accused of sexual harassment. Don't know if that could also lead to sex offense, and get registered? An overzealous DA would probably try to get that tacked on.
Locking the pilots in the cabin was the #1 best way to prevent kamikaze planes. That fix severely limits the damage any terrorist could do essentially assuring they will not likely gain control of the aircraft. It reduced the number of potential deaths to those on the flight and maybe a few on the ground from falling debris. Still a tragedy but not 9/11.
If you came here for semantics I would presume the authors you speak of are actually, you know, citizens of the nation...hence, it still benefits the nation (albeit a very small percentage).
And you do know there's lots of places where the Court explains that the benefits accrue to the author first and the nation second, right? I can start finding great language to that effect if you like.
Do it then! Mike's points are in the text of the post. You counter his points with yours. You don't need to wait for permission (unless you are expecting to bill Mike for your time).
And that is how many times he used a variation of ridiculous in his (much longer) text. You should have gone up against 'vindictive' if you wanted to make your point, at least.
