Huh? You're kidding me! Hmm..... I wonder if that is why all of those 'old' cartridges stopped working after about a year. I thought that it was just because the goddamned ink dried out. Perhaps I was wrong.
Agreed... way too long of a potential sentence, even for 'deterrent' purposes.
But, the fact is that older people are stupid asshats, by and large, and think that putting people in prison for long period REALLY DOES make some people think twice about committing a crime.
You and me know that it doesn't, especially in cases of 'heat of the moment' non-premeditated murder crimes.
Actually, quite true. Law Enforcement will lie through their teeth if they want to get you, even on the goddamned stand in a court of law.
I know that from having numerous relatives in law enforcement and them being disgusted with that fact.
We really need to realize that cops are humans just like the rest of us and they will NOT always tell the truth when they are asked.
In fact, outside of a court of law, they are ALLOWED to lie to you! How damned crazy is that? They are allowed to LIE and try to get you to admit something using falsified evidence.
Why wouldn't your thoughts be very nice? The fact is that EVERYONE bashes on lawyers until they need one..... frankly, if I was a lawyer and not just a paralegal, having someone come to me who had an avowed attitude like yours? Even if they were Ghandi, I would tell them "Sorry, find someone else to take your case!"
Re: Re: Re: They should have known he was a lawyer...
No, it isn't legal. Numerous states have laws saying that unless a police officer is going to the scene of a crime or has seen a crime and is trying to stop it, they cannot use those flashers.
Hate to tell you this, but your son had probably ALREADY heard all the 'foul language' in other places. We simply cannot 'protect' (i.e. keep ignorant) children of sex and profanity anymore, nor should we try to do that.
Frankly, no 'family-oriented' video is going to have sex in it. Maybe PG13 and above rated, with PG13 having MINOR things like kissing between teenagers/children or something similar.
There is simply no need for these places, and this is one time where I think that the MPAA and the studios are doing the right thing by keeping these idiots from MURDERING their products.
Do you really think that we wouldn't audit ALL of these things looking for backdoors?
Hell, do you think that we don't do that with companies in the United States to make sure that there are not any backdoors?
With all due respect, it seems that you are extremely distrustful of China without realizing that they ALREADY make many consumer-level computer goods that are used as military-grade at many places.
China would NOT want the black eye from us finding out that they had put backdoors into the hardware and then have us remove all military hardware manufacturing from overseas and bring it back into the United States.
Which is why companies HAVE to be told by a law being passed that unless someone is doing something illegal WITH THE ACCOUNT IN QUESTION, they have to allow the people to collect money on their website.
If some people want to bash them for that? Point at that law and say "Hey, we have no choice, to go to hell!"
This is just another attempt at First Amendment suppression of free speech, and I do not support that.
To the people who are going to say "THE FIRST AMENDMENT DOESN'T APPLY TO PRIVATE COMPANIES!"...... GUESS A-FUCKING-GAIN!"
Numerous court decisions in state and federal courts have said that you do NOT give up your right to free speech when you are using a private companies services.
Things like Newsvine's 'harmful to minors' policy would be thrown out if someone had the gumption to take them to court.
Might be an attempt at humor, but this is actually VERY true. The USF does NOT dictate that it has to be for X thing and by giving the private internet companies this money, allows them to defund their part of projects to an extent and put that money into lobbying people in Congress.
Simply put: DON'T GIVE THE MONEY TO PRIVATE COMPANIES! It's time for the government to do the building up of the internet backbones ourselves and then lease out access to these companies.
Agreed on the MPAA calling wolf way too many times today. The fact is that they keep on whining about piracy to deflect attention away from the fact that their offerings are vastly overpriced.
Right.... replication means EXACTLY THE SAME! Meaning that he would have had to use the same font, same colors, same exact EVERYTHING before it would be replication.
It's time to realize that everything is derivative and things like this should NOT be copyrighted.
Personally, I think that asking for a drug test period should be illegal, unless you are being trusted with extreme amounts of expensive stuff.... oh wait..... truck drivers are trusted with that all the time, and usually don't have to have drug tests.
I'd say that China isn't much more of a police state than the United States when it comes down to it. The United States has enough 'laws' on the books that if you sneeze in the wrong place, you could spend time in prison.
I guess China will never learn. Communism does not care about uprisings if it is communism, because the people will only 'revolt' if they aren't all being treated equally.
But wait.... that is the mean in China today, which is as Plutocratist as the United States when things are honestly discussed.
The fact is that children don't need to be protected from sex. I had sex with adults as a child by 7 and knew what it was from 4 after reading my parents college health book.
That is my viewpoint of all children, coming from asking people when they first did 'sexual' things, even if they didn't know that name for it.
I am all for going after people who physically force or drug children or anyone else into sex.... but this is going way too far and turning pedosexuals into a boogie man that society is using to replace the homosexual boogie man and heterosexual outside of marriage boogie man.
Simply put, if a child doesn't want someone to touch them sexually, all they have to do to get that person to leave them alone is yell "DON'T TOUCH ME THERE!" and that person will back off and run away.
Another fact? Most 'child sexual abuse' in this country is better called consensual sexual touching/sex between adults and children.
You don't have to 'authorize the use of anyone' in a non-monetary video. You can use someone's appearance as you damned well please, as long as you are not CHARGING for the thing in question.
