Are cap guns sold or even legal now? I grew up in the 50's & 60's and every kid had one. What was really fun was taking a hammer to a whole roll of caps. Never had one school shooting in elementary or high school. Never even heard of a kid bringing a real gun to school.
He probably would have done that had they not dropped their lawsuits. He is reporting them to the I.R.S. This step alone will probably result in serious Federal prison time for them. I believe this judge did not state anything here that cannot be substantiated. He said they made millions that they did not pay taxes on. These guys should be buying cases of "Soap on a Rope" because they sure won't want to drop it where they are going.
Speaking of CFCs, don't know if it has ever been covered here but the ban on R-12 (Freon) refrigerant in car air conditioners was because DuPont's patent on it had run out. By forcing the switch to R-134a it started the clock all over again. Freon was patented in early 40s, patents expired by 60s when DuPont introduced (evergreened) a new kind of freon. Then by 1974 (when the new patent was soon to expire) DuPont noticed an article that suggested ozone depletion and came up with the alternative that they claimed didn't interfere with ozone.
I used to run a degreaser at Boeing that used a similar CFC called Perchlorethylene. We were allowed by the EPA to use up to 400 GALLONS per month. Doing the math this one machine could put the amount of CFCs into the atmosphere in a year that would be in over 600,000 cars.
How would his stop & frisk policy have prevented what happened in Boston? What are the odds that 2 fanatics in a crowd of thousands would have been frisked? Those odds are even higher since the bombers were not black. We went to war against Hitler so we would not have to live in such a police state.
Another question; Was there anything in his ban on the size of soda cups that would have prevented you from buying 2 medium drinks instead of one large one? Would the vender have to interrogate you if the second one was for someone else? Duh!
My cable company provides McAfee as part of their service. I never got anything but false warnings and more than one occasion that I did get infected it did nothing. I keep multiple system image disks, so all I had to do is back up far enough to find a clean one. Fortunately with Windows 8 Defender is really all the protection that you need so I uninstalled McAfee. From what I have read this is just like their worthless site adviser that I disabled long ago. It gave a warning when I went to my Uploaded.net account before I even had any files in it. My guess is all this will do is give a warning for any page with cyber locker or torrent links on it. It may deter very inexperienced users who aren't smart enough to disable it. I doubt that this will ever be implemented involuntarily on ISP level. The backlash would be more than they could handle.
You are right. And if John Lennon were alive they would still be keeping an FBI file on him. The government has always feared anyone that might influence people's minds.
There is some evidence that the earth is currently in a warming trend just has occurred many times in history. Man has very little if anything to do with it. When I was in school in the 60's there was some signs of the opposite and the Chicken Littles were warning that we were headed for an ice age.
This stunt wasn't even original. Penn & Teller did a Bullshit episode about how everybody is ready to ignorantly jump on anything that sounds environmental and had people passing around petitions to ban dihydrogen monoxide. Same clueless people were signing that fall for the global warming hoax. One single volcano produces more CO2 than man made causes can in decades but everybody is falling for this crap.
Wiki verifies that. Learn something new every day. One question, if all he needed was a different name couldn't he have chosen anything, maybe just using his middle name? Instead he does something that makes him look like a real nut case.
When was the last time this fossil had a hit record? The ignorance of some artists! Their fans post things that amount to free promotion and they freak out and get it taken down. Gee, I was going to buy that Prince CD but now that I have a couple 6 second clips I don't need it.
P.S. Is he still the "Artist formally known as Prince" that changed his name to that weird symbol? What a nut case!
Come on you bastards, bring it on! As if lawyers didn't already have a bad enough reputation these idiots have sunk to unbelievably new lows. (opinion, 1st amendment protected)
Judges have threatened them with criminal action (fact, cannot be considered libel) They seem to be gluttons for punishment. Any decent judge would have the bailiff throw them out on their asses. If they think they have had enough negative comments already their latest antics will really open the floodgates. With the long string of losses mount you have to wonder how they can stay in business. Ambulance chasing would be much more profitable.
I have had 3 videos that "Matched Third Party Content". One by a 90'ss era Belgium singer just says "collecting rights societies" whatever the hell that is. The two others are of a great Ukrainian singer I found, one says the song is administered by just "Believe". Perhaps that is some Ukrainian label but I doubt it. The other is an hour long concert by her and it does not identify any of the songs she performed in the video. It identified "Marcus Miller-The Blues" as the song it was claiming. Doesn't sound Ukrainian to me. Also this video is blocked in Germany. None of these have been taken down. I have several others by both these singers and there has been no claim on on any of them. Both also have dozens of other videos on You Tube. I would dispute the claim but I don't have the rights to them either. That is what these trolls are counting on. Neither do a majority of the uploads on You Tube.
What is so crazy about this whole mess is that according to Torrentfreak the site had less than 100 hits total and 30 of those were from the government site investigating them.
I saw this article yesterday and I'm sure that it included the screen shot of the graphic. It even mentions that in the story. Where did it go? Is Techdirt running scared of what the article cited as "doubly a case of fair use"? I would think if any web site would stick to their guns it should be this one.
I average at least one call from Rachel a week. At first it was just my cell but now it is my land line too. I don't have caller ID on my land line but on my cell it shows up as a different number with a different area code every time. Because of them I have to turn off my phone when I sleep. If a family member needs to contact me about some emergency I guess they will have to come over and knock on my door. I hope they catch the bastards behind this scam!! If I wasn't on a fixed income I would be glad to donate to the reward!
It didn't take long to figure out they were spouting the same ridiculous figures that created the $8 billion iPod. Did you really think that they would point out that the unavailability of so much programing is pushing a lot of people to pirate that would probably be willing to pay a reasonable amount for convenient services that had what they wanted? Pure propaganda.
Wow! Claiming copyright on a rap beat. That would be like claiming that you have the copyright on all songs written in major or minor scale. Could even add in all they keys and modes of songs that you have copyrighted. Let's throw in any song that uses the circle of 5ths if the song you own uses it. Don't they ALL have pretty much the same beat? It has been said that there has only been one rap song ever written and everyone just puts different lyrics to it. George Harrison being sued over "My Sweet Lord" sounding a little like the one-hit wonder "He's so Fine" makes more sense than this!
This is a case where this idiot is so wealthy where everyone in his circle including his attorneys won't tell him how insane this whole legal tantrum is. The whole rest of the country is mocking him for just how stupid this makes him look.
