Be that as it may, if I was risking my life for some pictures you better believe I wouldn't sell them stock. That is his failure to appropriately value and sell his work. Also, I would make sure there was a market for such pictures and that the market would pay a premium for them since my neck was on the line.
It would be nice though to see how they did come up with these numbers, but then again we all know they are just made up figures anyways so what's the point.
"Beyond stock image libraries, photographers like Leif Skoogfors have something the say. A photojournalist whose four-decade career has put him into war zones in Central America and the Balkans has risked his life for the perfect shot. He now fights a desperate battle to stop web designers and bloggers from lifting his images without paying for them. On two photos alone, he has lost $180,000 in income, he says."
OK, first of all, I guarantee that number is incredibly inflated. This article acts as though their is absolutely no benefit to the pictures being shared. If you really have a picture worth $90,000 dollars then why are you selling digital versions of it. Why not restrict usage to print only? But really, who would be willing to pay $90k for a single picture anyways if they weren't going to own the picture and all its rights? So unless he foolishly posted the pictures online then I don't see how he could say he lost that income.
You might want to take down the "Shut us up" part of your CwF+RtB campaign. A payday like that could lead to some catastrophic accident. *Knock on wood*
Then where would we go to get our fix of tech news?
Because that doesn't make for a good slogan against filesharing. Plus, they would probably just brush past that comparison as hogwash and not give it a second look. They might mention something about radio paying some kind of royalties or whatnot and use that as an excuse to return to their failed comparison.
Ah, but ninja's have no weaknesses. Any perceived weakness is purposely projected by the ninja to lull even the most worthy adversaries into false confidence. If pirates are the masters of the sea & ninjas are masters of land and air, then I be bested by no man.
Actually there ARE fancy drugs to take care of that problem, but they are all covered under patents so.. well, you know that whole deal. And add to that the odds of this person being in the middle class & you have yourself one messed up situation.
But seriously, did he even bother to take his head out of his own ass long enough to think about what he was writing. It's like he just wrote whatever sounded good to him by "quoting" famous people and works. I can't believe it, I actually feel sorry for him that he is so out of touch with reality.
This reminds me of Cartman thinking he wrote the "Gay Fish" joke. This guy's ego is so out-of-wack that it manipulates his brain into thinking he is actually right about this one, and believes it so blindly that he can't even see where he is clearly wrong. It's sad really.
Well, that is very interesting story that explains the idea perfectly.
Those poor poor fools, they will NEVER learn. All we can do is wait until the day the current generation of kids growing up with technology assumes control. Until then, nothing will every change, because too many in power now have no idea how the internet works or how to even use it to their advantage.
On a side note, I do give our President props for being able to utilize technology so effectively, embracing youTube... Good choice. Although, I am still waiting for the website that lists the 5 W's for our tax money being spent.
Didn't think monks played video games, hell, I didn't even think they had electricity. Well you learn something new everyday I guess.
But seriously, us ninja pirates have no such time for such childish endeavors. We prefer to release our aggressions through looting and plundering. We live by the motto, "If you see a Ninja, you're dead. If you see a Ninja Pirate, you're dead & your booty has been plundered."
I always get a kick out of people who have the misguided idea that they can have even the slightest effect on illegal downloading.
On a side note, thought this quote from Albert Einstein was relevant, "The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources." That man was truly a friggin GENIUS!
Only I would add, "Make me say it one more time...*sound of gun being cocked* I dare you.. I triple dog dare you motha fucka!" For those drivers who like to cruise down the interstate for 45 min with their friggin blinker on.
I think the sound of the tires at a certain speed would make enough noise to still allow them to make that determination. Although like someone pointed out, at a low enough speed the noise would be significantly less. Maybe their could be a switch, similar to how you turn your lights or turn signal on, that could enable a sound while going through intersections.
Its important to note that we won't be seeing a significant enough drop in noise producing cars to worry about this anytime soon, but it is worth looking into for the future. The gov't should definitely stay out of it though, I mean, when was the last time the gov't made something better? It starts off well enough, but it always ends with, "Well we didn't know it was going to do THAT."
If only it had been a really really high cliff... I sure hope he doesn't reproduce. Although, I do have some beach front property I'd like to sell him if he is interested. The funny thing is he would probably buy it if his GPS told him it was the right move. Some people get so dependent on technology that they just switch off their own brain. Well news flash, computers are only as useful & intelligent as their users.
