Kopimism began from the valid question... What would Jesus do when it comes to file sharing?
That answer is found in the loaves and fishes. Replication to feed the masses.
Most religions do promote sharing, generosity (anti-greed) and caring. So it has long been a moral stance that has since awaited religious recognition.
Kopimism currently has 3000 members and it is sure to grow with more members and recognised in other countries.
I expect to see cars available for download over the next few years. This would be done lawfully under Creative Commons which would mean free to use at home but any commercial sales needs a license agreement.
This one act would kick off a major billion dollar market. The local showrooms and factories would gain when they would have the huge 3D printers and can handle colours, mods and upgrades which would win over the home market.
Well a lip reader in court would have got up half the story.
I cant believe they would want a general name like 'Guido Fawkes'. Around November 5 that name for us British is as common as Santa Clause and The Tooth Fairy.
The said criminal has been long dead after he was hanged, drawn & quartered, then his various parts were burned on a bonfire.
I think Mr Fawkes would have been rather shocked to hear his name used on a criminal court case hundreds of years later. My point here is wanting that name is like asking Twitter to supply all tweets on 'George Bush' when some who use that name could be criminals!
Those were some nice words. Yes it is all about an Internet land-grab for market control and to take out rivals.
The Internet is the greatest innovation of our time and an amazing source of creation. No one country or organization should be allowed to abuse and censor the Internet for their own game.
So damn SOPA and PIPA to the worst level of Hell. OPEN is a much better plan.

Politician #1: You are trying to destroy the Internet, raise The Great Firewall of America, harm the fastest growing market for innovation, the solution does not stop the problem... and you smell bad.
Politician #2: You are nothing more than the head of the freetards who rape the Internet, thousands of Hollywood jobs are being lost every day, favourite TV series are at risk, productions are closing, ticket prices increase, we can't compete against free... and I heard from your friends you are a dirty whore.
Now I only wonder what Politician #3 would say to attack both of them? Now, now children and such.
Is it true what I heard that GoDaddy has made it harder to transfer domains away on the 29th due to wanting your signature on a transfer agreement?
I did my domain transfers early to get it in before the Xmas holiday and to be one of the people who helped GoDaddy to change their mind. It worked.
From what I have seen a transfer takes one day if you do it as quickly as possible but could take 3, 4 or even 5 days if you do it slowly by not approving transfer quickly.
So those that start on the 29th are best seen on the 30th but some transfers out may only complete after the new year but this is overlooking that this could only be the start of a landslide when many people only heard the news today.
A sad reflection of the greed and selfishness of our species, all fuck Christmas because they did not get what they want. It is sick and thankfully people recognize this.
Now to think of all the hardship and suffering in this World that they blissfully care nothing about because this does not happen on their high street. I directly know that the price of an iPhone or car could save many lives.
For an example then a friend of my Pinay partner had her mother fall seriously ill and in need of hospital. She had no man though having separated and in this shit ass recession (where those in the Philippines are the bottom of this chain) then there was no one to help her. To a Western person to cost to save her mother was under one month of wages but no one did help her much so after weeks of pain, agony and suffering she died.
It is sad to say that this is not uncommon for the Philippines, where money makes the difference between life and death for the poor. No one person can help them all though and the social problems to sort this out runs deep into corruption.
Even in the news you may have read about the flooding and over 2000 people washed away. Whole families of men, women and children. Events like that one happen most years to various degrees. The poor often suffer here too when they are the ones to build their poor shanty homes on flood plains just awaiting for that one big typhoon.
I, a western person, have largely given up on western people due to the average western ego and consumer culture. The greed, arrogance, hostility and more.
As they say suffering is good for the soul. You cannot value what you have until you have nothing. And you cannot truly be someone until you are an unforgotten nothing in this World.
Be humble and be thankful all that life has given you.
I am only happy that the GoDaddy boycott worked and they have now removed their name from SOPA and PIPA support.
I have also wondered if the boycott should now cease or continue and my conclusion is that it should continue. You should remember what their CEO said in that they are quite happy to support SOPA if the market did.
Clearly our best option is to cause GoDaddy so much pain that they never again dare support such a shit law. They are an Internet company and they should never have welcomed such Internet damage and censorship. They should have realised all the other experts who fled or were banned that something was seriously wrong. And they should have changed their mind before we forced them to.
So there you go. My domains are now at NameCheap and you can do whatever you want.
I am someone who frequently reads Rick Falkvinge's theories and I do often find he takes ideas too far. It is like he gets most of it right but then adds more that only leads disagreement and debate. Interestingly enough his most accurate postings were also his most celebrated.
I am also someone who frequently calls our the flaws in his ideas and yes in this case I clearly pointed out that DMCA "safe harbour" law does not harm Free Speech and this law is in fact good for web site growth and innovation.
The large abuse that happens is in the DMCA take-down process with the many false requests. People though can fight back if they want to and know how. Not knowing their rights, feeling helpless and being bullied is the real problem.
Rick then discredited all of DMCA law saying that Common Carrier law should be used instead. I then replied that Common Carrier law would not apply well to a website and a Judge would expect site owners to maintain their property in a lawful way.
So in my view his theory had been largely disproved. DMCA law is largely abused for censorship purposes but safe-harbour is not part of this.
DMCA take-down law can be fixed if false claims come with larger fines. It would also help in the second round of the DMCA take-down process that copyright ownership be proved through document scans. No valid proof is a large part of the censorship that occurs.
I would leave that question for the RIAA to answer themselves.
They always like to treat the World like a cake to be cut into slices with the odd belief that it gives them more cake. It could more be true that thinner slices, like Dubai, are overlooked.
FireFly is without doubt the greatest sci-fi series ever made which was cut down in its prime. They simply overlooked that sci-fi takes longer to build up a fan base.
If they are concerned about dead companies then they only need to deal with this problem separately. Best idea IMO is that if the business ceases trading for 12 months then their DMCA safe-harbour status is lost and they need to reapply should they later restart.
Changing status under safe-harbour I expect opens a company up to being sued and they can always seek classification under the law if needed.
Now if only I could get a cut from all the items my online company sells should these items be sold on second hand. Nice but it would never happen.
This proposal has two obvious faults. The first is that the buyer is the one to take the risk in the painting. So if the painting loses value then does the artist have to cough up part of the loss to compensate the seller? All win and no loss is hardly a fair open market.
Then second would be if the artist become famous they can live their fame and make new art to sell for millions. That is unless they since lost their hands in a lawnmower challenge but that is karma for you.
So this is only another group of people wanting something for nothing. Free cash. They seem to forget when you sell an item you transfer ownership.
The end conclusion is if the artist wants to take the risk in the painting then they should not have sold it in the first place.
It is true to say that most business's do not realise how SOPA can be misused and abused to target their business.
Even more worrying is that the attacker is most likely to be your business rival looking to damage your business for their gain. Your list of business rivals are a lot bigger than you realise. SOPA gives them the bomb where they only need to light the fuse.
