The USTR is a joke...I can't wait to see the outcome of all that stupidity; they must have the world's most "intelligent people" sitting on their hands and typing with their tongues to come up with this load of Garbagè.
This guys got the right idea, they understand that people will hide what they are doing by any means necessary...you stop one way people find another one, look at Prohibition.
This is better than watching "The Young and the Restless" there is more drama here than in all the years that the 'soap' has going...
Anyway I don't believe it is unethical, if the content is not provided by the publisher for a fair price. If the publisher included a digital copy of the book then this wouldn't be an issue; which is something they should have started doing a long time ago...I have always thought that books were overpriced, I love reading but I'm not paying 9.99-??.?? for something that I will most likely read once.
What if I base my bogus study on their bogus study??
Will the planet implode and humanity be exterminated??
I beg the people doing these studies help the IFPI a little by giving them some hope that their rules and such might work, if not they will be calling your studies useless and the governments won't look at them.
ACTA is going to kill much more than just anonymity; this is a terrible act being forced upon the people by corporations who do not understand who made them big. If ACTA ever reaches/becomes what the corporations want it to be, it is going to be a very sad and then the next day someone will find a way around it.
Please don't take my rights from me in the physical world or in the internet.
What the hell does that mean?? There are millions of people printing pictures everyday and a lot of those would be worthy of being called art...people who enforce these rules need to get their heads out of their butts and start living in the 21st century where anything is possible!
This is a toughie...This is a he says/she says battle that will be won by the persons with the deepest pockets; the little guy doesn't matter anymore people stop trying to make your voices heard it won't mean anything!
To me it is obvious that they would be doing this, no one likes to pay for content especially if they can get it for free and legally...I would do the same!
The industries have an easier of way to stop people from "sharing files" and it won't cost them anything... They just need to stop working and have the artist stop creating their works of art; and then after a year or two they can comeback and the people would be happy to oblige their wishes.
Can the starving artists who would have made some money please stand up or raise their hands??
Incredible, can someone please explain to these people that they need to stop being greedy!! They are losing much more than they are gaining stop investing money in something so futile; even if CETA is adopted someone will find a way around it!!!!!
