to all the posters calling his treatment "torture", have any of you ever been inside a military prison? it's not like a civilian prison at all. it is a very unpleasant place, populated by, and policed by, for the most part very unpleasant people. not saying it is okay by any stretch, just that he really isn't being singled out like it is being trumpeted.
i do remember that day, biggest think i noticed immediately was the quantity of comments posted by readers dropped to almost zero. articles which would have had over 200 comments would have 5 or 6. and they also started rabidly controlling and limiting which articles even allowed comments.

the mta is a financial disaster. and it is subsidized by the citizens of not just nyc, but the whole state. exhorbitant bridge and tunnel tolls, dept of motor vehicle "fees", as well as payroll taxes specifically for the mta, from people who have never used the subway in their life, and probably never will.
during the height of this over here (us) i was at a hospital emergency room with my daughter (unrelated issue). while there, a nurse wandered by with a cart, offering the vaccine to all the other emergency room personnel. not one of them got the shot. made me wonder about it.
