Carmack made a statement about why the FB buyout wasn't deserving of the negative hysteria. While he has a vested interest in the deal, Carmack tends to be honest to a fault about this kind of stuff (corporate actions and involvements in projects he's attached to) so I wouldn't totally write off the Occulus VR completely.

Cliff, the days of Carmack vs. Sweeney and peoples infatuation with graphical fidelity are long gone. Im surprised a study has never been done showing how players, after no more than 15 minutes, cease to pay attention to graphics and concentrate on gameplay (an attribute that seems to be sorely lacking in most AAA games nowadays).
Much like the movie and music industry, most of these astronomical costs can be attributed to maintaining a management model that is wholly unnecessary. Luxury high-rise offices, outrageously expensive PR spending, management bonuses and perks, departmental redundancy etc.
You might want to pull your head out of your pampered ass long to see that a handful of guys working out of their garage, brown bagging lunches and a little help fro kickstarter are producing AAA quality games for under a million.
Is the the same "Trickle-Down" horseshit logic as that other old claim where games purchased and downloaded online would give players significant savings since packaging and distribution fees would be eliminated?

On the other hand, orin isn't giving direct informative answers to the senator. Thats his job I suppose but its also behavior that most large companies exhibit when there are fact-finding sessions that could even have whiff of liability. I commend the sentator for calling the attorney out on his overly rambling answers that wastes the time of elected officials who might be trying to do the right thing.
Lastly, Orin needs to take a trip to the testosterone factory

Or how about treating addiction as a medical issue rather than a criminal. We have over 100 years of poof that locking up users , even for long periods, does NOTHING to stop the use of illicit dope. Gangland murders didn't stop until prohibition was repealed. Why does anyone think its any different with drugs.
Personally I would love to take attorneys (from ALL areas of specialization) and burn them to death on live TV.
If things keep going the way they are, you'll see that and more. Next time OWS happens, it wont be passive hipsters and dead heads, its going to be working class and lower white collar people dragging shitbags onto the streets and beating them to death. LOL at legislation.
