This was back on the now dated HTC EVO 4G. It's baked into the ROM in various locations. Some APKs in /system/apk. Some .so libraries in /system/lib and a conf file in /system/etc.
It also is called to start at bootup from the RAMDISK "boot.img" which contains the kernel as well.
Removing it is a pain in the butt and almost always requires root access as well as full system read/write access./div>
The problem with Silicon Valley. It's like lunch at High School. All the cool kids (Gov't) pick on the nerds (S.V.) and they all end up sitting at their own tables.
Now the nerds are filthy rich and some of the cool kids are filthy rich and neither still wants to be seen with each other in public. The nerds are afraid to speak up because the cool kids will make fun of them again and really they can't handle rejection anymore.
I didn't realize YouTube, eBay, Craigslist, and other similar sites were sources for illegal downloads. I've been using shady sites from Sweden this whole time, and now I find out I could have been using eBay to download movies? Heck yea!/div>
lol Monster Cable hates deal websites because they always get trashed for their extremely overpriced cables. $100 vs $1 HDMI cables.. yeah I'll take my chances with the $1 DIGITAL cable that does the same thing.

Nope. Nothing wrong with recording a public event in public. Start and stop anytime, doesn't matter. The only thing I would have been worried about is the officer seeing the guy reaching for something... but apparently he wasn't worried about that./div>
What I hated (and I don't see it now that I look for it.. maybe it's finally blocked) is that bottom tool bar. That was annoying. It's a web browser, not my operating system (ChromeOS!) and you couldn't totally get rid of it. It also seemed to be the cause of loading delays for the site, but I could never pinpoint that (nor did I put much effort into it). At least it only seemed to appear on the main page.
I'll still run my adblocker. It's easier to just install it and walk away. I don't interact with it and it doesn't interact with me. Just the way I like it.
I'm not a hardcore Techdirt reader. Mainly just read the tweets and if a story interests me I'll head on over, but most of the time I've heard it elsewhere already (not a bad thing, Mike and friends always make good points) so I'll pass over it.
Whatever works the best for you Mike. It's your project, and continuing to explore possibilities is what helps keep it alive./div>
4. Don't trust the server, the people who wrote the software, the people who work for you, the mail person, Mike Masnick, or the kid at the McDonald's drive through.
Really though, it's more than just the client you have to worry about./div>
This guy is just an attention/media whore. Anything he can do to get his name out to appear like he cares and/or is doing something for the average person./div>

Truth in sarcasm./div>
Re:
I also won't buy from a company who sues customers / potential customers. Who are you to decide if my choice is right or "just wrong"?
Yes, even downloaders are potential customers./div>
yeah...

If there is child abuse going on, go after the source in the physical world. Kill the Hydra, not just one of its heads./div>

New word, same treatment

I'm an early 80s baby, so that might be the problem. :D/div>
